1. Baba C. Vemuri
Dr. Baba C. Vemuri is a Visiting Professor, at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY, and Research Fellow, German Aerospace Research Institute, DLR Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. IEEE membership and outstanding service as Associate Editor of IEEE TPAMI.
He has led projects worth 50 million dollars. He passed out in 1979 from the NIT Trichy.
He received his MS and Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Austin. He won the University of Florida SPP award & Research Foundation professorship.
2. Krishna V Palem
Krishna V. Pale is an Indian-born computer scientist and engineer. Dr. Krishna V Pale received a BE degree in Electronic Communication Engineering from NIT Tiruchirappalli in 1979.
He has been the editor-in-chief of many international journals. He has $6.8 million in research funding. He received his MS and Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Austin.
He received a Teaching Excellence award; an External recognition award from the IBM Research division, apart from the Hewlett Packard research award and Panasonic research award.
3. Ramesh R Rao
Dr. Ramesh R Rao is the author of over 100 technical articles, has contributed to two book chapters, and has guest lectures and plenary lectures.

He passed out in 1980 from NIT Trichy. He is a member of the US government's expert group to review the current research, development, and applications in wireless communications in the United States, Japan, and Western Europe.
4. S. K. Ramesh
S. K. Ramesh is a professor of electrical and computer engineering at California State University, Northridge, USA, and a former dean of the University of Engineering and Computer Science.
Ramesh received an Honors Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Regional Engineering College of Tiruchirappalli (now known as the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli) at the University of Madras, India, in 1981.
From 2006 to 2017, he was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Northridge, and from 2017 to the present, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at CSUN.
Ramesh was elected Chairman of the Accreditation Committee of Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) in 2021.
5. Rajkumar Chellaraj
Raj Chellaraj is CFO and Dean of Management at Stanford Business School at Stanford University.
At the same time, from 2015 to 2017, he was Chief Operating Officer of the Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Countries (Stanford Seed), mainly in Africa and India.
He is currently the CEO of Wellbore Integrity Solutions, a global oilfield service provider, which is a portfolio of private equity firm Rhône Group.

6. John Mathews
An Indian-American engineer and educator, John Mathews is an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) professor at Oregon State University in the United States.
Matthew received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Communication Engineering from the Regional Engineering College of Tiruchirappalli (now known as the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli).
In 1981 and 1984, he received an MS and Ph.D. in ECE from the University of Iowa.
7. Nagi Naganathan
Nagi Ganapathy Naganathan is the current President of the Oregon Institute of Technology and a former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Toledo.
Naganathan holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Tiruchirappalli.
He was appointed Interim President of the University of Toledo on July 1st, 2014.

Nagarajan Ranganathan was a prominent university professor of computer science and engineering at the University of South Florida in Tampa, USA.

Vanitha Rangaraju Ramanan is an Indian animator working at DreamWorks Animation.
Rangaraju is part of the Oscar-winning film Shrek team at the 74th Academy Awards in Los Angeles, USA, and won the Academy Award for Best Animation at the 55th British Academy Film Awards in London, England.
Rangaraju graduated from NIT Tiruchirappalli with a bachelor's degree in architecture.

An Indian politician, Palanivel Thiagarajan is the current Minister of Finance of Tamil Nadu.

After attending the Lawrence School and Vikaasa School in Lovedale, Madurai in Thiagarajan graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the NIT Trichy.
