Pimpri, January 2025: Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) successfully hosted PCU Explore Germany 2025, an immersive and vibrant celebration dedicated to German culture, language,
and international collaboration. The event brought together an esteemed panel of guests and enthusiastic students, fostering an enriching environment for cultural exchange and learning.
Addressing the audience, the Vice Chancellor of PCU delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the significance of learning new languages for overall personality development. She
emphasized that shortly, Global Citizenry will become a crucial aspect of personal and professional growth.
A major highlight of the event was the felicitation of distinguished guests, including the following esteemed personalities.
- Dr Sarita Kelkar, Hon. Director of the Ferguson Center for Languages and recipient of Germany’s highest citizenship honour. She spoke about the cultural similarities between
Germany and India, emphasise the importance of preparing students culturally for international experiences. Dr. Kelkar, a pioneer of student exchange programs from Pune, also
shared her valuable insights. - Dr Christina Rath, a distinguished professor from SPPU, provided in-depth information about DAAD India, explaining the scholarship process for students, reasons for choosing Germany
for further education, and the growing industries in the country. - Mr. Kuber Kapoor, Country Head of GEDU, offered valuable insights into the education system and career opportunities in Germany as well as the global market.
- Ms Sharayu Jorkar, Document Verification Officer at the Delhi Embassy, explained the document process and verification intricacies while also sharing insights about securing jobs in foreign companies.
- Ms. Daksha Oak, highlighted the challenges faced by students while learning German, the career opportunities available after mastering the language, and the importance of getting the right guidance, including information on scholarship programs.
The event also featured an engaging session on the traditional German Schuhplattler dance, providing attendees with insights into Germany's cultural heritage.
