Clubs & Associations :
There are quite a few number of clubs in Amity University, Mumbai. Book club, Photography Club, Fashion Club etc. Having people come from different backgrounds with different interests and having extensive amount of courses is a reason the university has a wide range of clubs. There are a lot of events held in campus all year round, the biggest one being Aminova which is the college fest held once a year. It spans over 3-4 days and goes on till 10 pm on the last day. The food stalls, art stalls and different varieties of stalls in general are an object of interest amongst students.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
The Campus is huge and has buildings dedicated to different departments. It makes for huge lawns and playgrounds. The boys' hostel and the girls' hostel are two separate buildings that are separated with the main office building and a playground between them. There are AC rooms as well as Non AC rooms. Hostel fee is semester basis, Rs.50,000 for Non AC rooms and Rs.65000 for AC rooms. There are apartment complexes around the campus ranging from one bedroom, two bedroom, and three bedroom rentals, all with the rent of Rs. 20,000 or less. The Campus has a few restaurants, two canteens, and all of them offer a wide variety of food. There is free wifi which can be connected to one's device through registering the device's IP Address. Classrooms have good quality seating arrangments, all having working ACs. Overall insfrastructure is Excellent.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
For the course I chose, and also for most courses in the college, one's interest is taken a note of more than the marks they have scored. Applicants have to submit an appliaction, which has high chancees of getting accepted. Once that is done, the applicant has to submit and SOP Video telling why they want to study that specific course and why they want to study it at Amity University. If the SOP is convincing, the applicant gets accepted in the course they want to study.
Fees & Scholarships :
As Amity is a private University, the fees is obviously not average. My course had a semester fee of Rs. 30,000. Plus a deposit of Rs.15,000 is to be paid as a deposit when you join. They do not go easy on the fine either, and raise the fine by Rs.7000 if you are a week late and by Rs.15000 if you are two weeks late. There are scholarships which provide 50% or 25% off on the fee if you certain percentage in your pervious degree.
Academics & Faculty :
Class timings range from 9am to 4pm. Mid semester exams mostly consist of assignments. Method and Quality of teaching differ from Professor. You can find some of the best professors to not so best professors, you just have to make things work for yourself.
