Entrance Exams & Admissions :
I got my admission on the first cutoff. I scored around 82% best of four and had all the right subjects that did not lead to any deduction, that is, having English, political science, history and psychology. The cutoff was around 78% which was less than the usual cutoff for history Hons, generally, the cutoff goes to 85%. I had to get my mark sheet approved and once they approve you eligible, I had to pay my fees through the college site, fill a form of basic details, and once the fees are paid, you have the admission. Usually, there aren't any entrance exams for honors at Delhi University and luckily I did not have to undergo any entrance exams.
Placements & Internships :
In my two years of the college experience, I wasn't able to get an internship through my college, however, my college tries its level best all the time to make sure some companies come in and interview and offer internships to students. Unfortunately, the success rate of internships is quite low at Bharati College. Nevertheless, kudos to the placement team who keep giving their 100% to make sure the success rate gets high.
Fees & Scholarships :
Bharati College, [BC] Delhi Fee Structure. The fee for my course is Rs 11,000 per year.
Bharati college offers a lot of scholarships to people in need, in terms of merit, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The second-year fees got reduced to Rs. 9k again excluding the examination fees which is around Rs. 600.
Academics & Faculty :
This is the department which disappointed me a lot. When it comes to the faculty of history, it lacks in various departments. If you are a non-Hindi speaker, it makes it very difficult in this college as it is dominated by Hindi speakers in the teaching faculty. Overall, my experience with the faculty has made me to some extent regret my decision of taking admission here. If you are serious about learning and want to pursue the same course as mine then you need to take this into serious consideration.
Clubs & Associations :
Bharati college is well-known for its fashion and dance society in the whole of DU. Apart from this, it has many clubs ranging from maths to quiz. Getting into clubs can be easy but once working it can prove to be troublesome because of the pressure of work which may divert your attention from your studies. You may not get as many options as you get in other colleges of Du when it comes to clubs and the exposure is average.
However, once you are into Bharati college you will get to experience the life of a DU student full of fun and hardships and leniency. The teachers and students there are very friendly and helpful and will not make you feel out of space.
