Bharati College was established in 1971 as Bharati Mahila College by the Delhi Administration in Karol Bagh. Later, in 1998 it shifted to its new location in Janakpuri which is just 3 km from Connaught Place. It is a women’s college that aims to uplift women in our country. It is affiliated to the University of Delhi. It is spread over an area of 8.6 acres.
The college conducts various activities throughout the year wherein the students actively participate. It has an NSS and NCC wing. It offers a variety of infrastructure facilities for the students. It encourages students to take part in various sports activities.

The students take part in various activities throughout the year. Bharti College has a dramatic club to promote theatre culture. It organizes various experimental productions at regular intervals. It has a fashion society which provides an opportunity to interest students to show their talent in this field.
The college has a film club which screens the world cinema’s weekly. It is followed by discussions wherein the students take part. It also has an eco-club that organizes activities to create environmental awareness. The dance society of the college takes part in various competitions.
The performing arts society of the college comprises of dancers, singers, and instrumental music players. They conduct and also take part in various competitions. The NCC wing conducts parades, training camps, map reading, posture training, etc. The NSS wing works in Deen Dayal hospital which is located near the college. They offer their services in various sections. They also work in the nearby slum where they teach the students academics, the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, etc.
Bharati College Janakpuri has a fully digitized library. It has three computer labs with more than 100 systems with a broadband connection. It has a well-maintained seminar hall with a capacity of 100. It also has a committee room and a studio theatre.
The college canteen which is large and spacious offers quality food and has a capacity of 50. It also provides a phone booth and Photostat facilities to the students. The Punjab National Bank has an extension counter on the college campus. It also provides medical facilities to the students and faculties. A medical doctor is always available for consultation. It also has a counseling center in the campus for psychodynamic counseling.

The college provides hostel facilities. It is located within the campus. The admission is purely based on merit. The admission is only provided to those students whose parents are not residing or doing a job in the National Capital Territory of Delhi region. The Bharati College facilities include a common room wherein the students are allowed to watch TV till 11 PM every day.
The annual hostel fee including the room rent, electricity bill, water charges, establishment fee, etc is INR 54,600. It can be paid in installments of INR 31,550 at the time of admission and INR 23,050 in January. The mess charge is INR 2998.76 per month.
