It was established in 1957 after the name of illustrious Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, the then Chief Minister and architect of modern West Bengal. Bidhan Chandra College Application Form 2024

Students are selected for admission by the Admission Committee of the College according to the admission policy of the college and the rules and regulations prescribed by the University of Calcutta. The students shall have to purchase the booklet entitled “ Admission Regulations ” at the time of submitting their Application Forms for admission to the College.  The students desirous of getting admission will have to satisfy the requirements prescribed by “ Admission Regulations ”, C.U. and the college authority. The application in prescribed form will have to be submitted within the notified date. The form is to be filled in by the candidate’s own handwriting and must be accompanied by attested photocopies of mark sheet of the last examination passed, admit card or certificate of Madhyamik Pariksha or equivalent examination, duly attested by the Head of the institution last attended by the student. All students, selected for admission, will have to produce those documents in original and furnish two recent stamp sized photographs and requisite fees at the time of admission. Bidhan Chandra College fees varies based on the course opted.

• It is to be noted that students will be admitted strictly according to the marks obtained in the H.S /(10+2) examination and mere submission of filled in application form does not guarantee admission. All admissions are provisional, subject to the approval of the University of  Calcutta.
• As per Govt. rules & orders seat reservation is available for S.C /S.T /OBC Physically handicapped students.
• The students who have shown their extraordinary performance in state or national level sports and games (both outdoor and indoor) shall be given preference at the time of admission.

Bidhan Chandra College UG Eligibility

A candidate with a view to taking up honours must have to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in Subject or 55% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination or 50% marks in aggregate when the candidate takes up Honours in the subject not included in his/her previous qualifying examination. For Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe Candidates, the minimum requirement for taking up honours is 40% marks in aggregate or 40% marks in the subject/ related subject at the previous qualifying examination.

• A candidate who appeared but could not obtain pass marks in any corresponding subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination will not be allowed to take up Honours in that subject.
• No candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Economics if he/she has not passed Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.
