Fees & Scholarships : Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Haringhat Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 20,000 per annum. The university has secured a position in the first 15 cheapest universities in India. As a government-run institute, course fees are unbelievably low. The hostel and mess fees are also very low. At present university is not providing any scholarship to the UG students. But they can apply for various government & private scholarships, and university plays a very supportive role in that case.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : BCKV is a state agricultural university of West Bengal, and it has three different faculties offering courses on agriculture, horticulture, and agricultural engineering. Students must have 'Biology' in the subject combination during their 10+2 courses. Students from West Bengal can join agriculture and horticulture courses based on their marks of 10+2 board examination. Admission in agricultural engineering is made through the ranks of state joint entrance examination. Being under the umbrella of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), certain percentages of the seats are alloted for the students of other states cracking the ICAR UG (AIEEA) entrance exam. It has two sub-campuses within the state. Students of the other boards like CBSE or ICSE are alloted in the 'other board' category and get 4 to 5 % seats reserved for them. Students with a science background have to earn a minimum of 90% score to get admission in this esteemed university.

Placements & Internships : The university offers graduation, post-graduation, and doctoral degrees. Most of the students either go for higher study or get a government job in the banking and agricultural sector. So the placement wing is not that much strong honestly. Some companies manufacturing fertilizers, pesticides and some other agro-based companies are invited to hiring an employee. Salaries offered by the companies vary with the qualification you have. A newly graduated student is offered a salary around INR 2-3 lakh per annum, whereas the highest package offered ranges between INR 5-6 lacs per annum.

Academics & Faculty : The university follows a semester-based curriculum. Different modules specialized for different sectors of agriculture, and rural work experience (RAWE) are offered during the last few semesters. The theory classes and lab practicals occur from 11 am to 5 pm. Short terms, midterms, and end terms are the examination structure. It must be mentioned that all year round examinations are taking place here for the constant evaluation of the students. The faculty and lab technicians are quite knowledgeable and efficient in teaching. Many of the professors are well-known scientists in their fields. They offer their helping hands to the students in every aspect. I can assure you that studying at this university will be a memorable journey.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Everyone praises the university for its aesthetic beauty and cleanliness. It owns a central library which is the largest among Asian countries. One can access the books, magazines, and theses from home also through Cera. The labs are well equipped and have all the facilities for running experiments. UG students get a chance to work by themselves in the labs under the supervision of technical persons. The classrooms are supplied with air conditioner, and PowerPoint facility and students are provided spacious hostel rooms with a private bed, cupboard, and study table. University buses are available for transportation, and the students can get sufficient scopes to endeavour theoretical and practical knowledge for their enhancing skills. Armed security personnel are appointed all over the campus, including the hostels.

Clubs & Associations : The university offers a very healthy social life along with vivid learning. Senior, junior relationships are nourished here, and lifetime bondings are created. Year-round cultural and sports activities are organised. Students get involved in all the programmes. They arrange from local festivals to big cultural events. The freshers and farewell parties are also in the list.
