Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya Engineering, Vallabh Vidyanagar College was founded in 1958. The college has the motto of “Work is Worship”. College was first approved by the Government as a grant-in-aid College with more than 20000 engineers Graduated. The college offers degrees offered such as B.Tech. and M.Tech Courses. In 1979, BVM was called upon to establish an institute working entirely for research, development, training and extension work in the area of renewable sources of energy, particularly for rural applications. Dr. R M Dave took great pains in establishing the Jyoti Solar Energy Institute. The institute which later renamed as Sardar Patel Renewable Energy Research Institute has now developed into a full-fledged institute working independently in the vital area of renewable energy. The Computer Center was established in 1985 and is being continuously upgraded and expanded. Initially, it had a UNIX-based minicomputer with Sixteen terminals and a number of PC/XTs and PC/ATs providing DOS Environment. BVM became the grant-in-aid institution of the State Government in 1958 and slowly grants from the State as well as Central Government started trickling in. BVM offers a wide range of UG and PG Courses to Students.
Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya Engineering, Vallabh Vidyanagar College offers a wide range of courses to students. The college has developed a transparent and efficient admission process for aspiring candidates in 2024. BVM Engineering College admission, application forms, and information brochures are to be obtained from the college office and can also be downloaded from the college official website. Completed application forms along with the submission of original documents should be submitted on or before the notified date. Candidates provisionally selected for admission in any program should appear before the Admission Committee with parents/guardians. This includes a variety of B.Tech and M.Tech courses. Students are selected for counseling on the basis of merit at the qualifying examinations.
BVM Engineering College offers ten B.Tech programs and various M.Tech programs in various disciplines. The intake for B.Tech programs ranges from 30-120 seats per course, while that for M. Tech is 18 seats per course with the exception of 25 seats for Computer Engineering.

The institute presently runs four-year Full-time Regular Bachelor of Technology courses in various courses such as computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication. Online mode of application is allowed. Candidates can register and apply through the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) website. 10+2 in Science stream with minimum 45% marks is required for B. Tech programs. Only qualified candidates are eligible for B. Tech counseling and admission. The selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks/ rank secured by the applicant, which is followed by a counseling session conducted on a state level. A final merit list of the candidates is declared after the counseling process. The first preference is given to candidates qualifying 10+2 from Gujarat Secondary Education Board. Candidates applying under reserved categories must produce caste / any other relevant certificate.

The institute offers a two-year full-time M. Tech degree under the self-finance scheme. M. Tech courses are offered in different branches such as Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, and Management, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Machine Design, Infrastructure Engineering, and Technology. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to any of the M. Tech programs offered by the college is a B.E./B.Tech degree with a minimum of 45% in order to qualify for admission. The selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks/ rank secured by the applicant in Gujarat, which is followed by a counseling session conducted on a state level.
