It is a mixed bag of reviews and emotions when it comes to Centurion University. The proverb “All that glitters is not gold” stands true for the university. With below-average salary packages and consistent complaints about the facilities, students are not wholeheartedly satisfied with the college.

Placement rate and salaries are some of the vital component that determines a college’s worth. Many students have expressed their dissatisfaction with the placement record. The same can be said for the Centurion College’s infrastructure. Even though it has built many advanced facilities, many of them fail routinely, causing hindrances to the students.

Distinct Courses

Among all the commotion of lacking facilities, Centurion University has been successful in maintaining its academic standards. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, diploma, and certificate courses. 

As with such a breadth of courses, maintaining the standards of academics can be a tedious affair. However, Centurion University has been dedicated towards this area. The course curriculums are backed by industry research and trends. Students are also very appreciative of the faculties at Centurion University. 

The faculties are responsible and dedicated and are always available to resolve any academic queries of the students. They are also highly qualified and skilled. The teacher-to-student ratio is well-balanced. Hence, there is no burden or rush by the students to pin down a few particular faculties for their doubts.

Innovative Research Facilities

Centurion University has built progressive and robust research centres and facilities. The university has published a fair number of research papers in diverse fields. It has taken extra steps to collaborate with private organisations and install machines for the benefit of the students.

In spite of taking utmost care to maintain such enormous sophisticated equipment, students have often raised the alarm on various online search portals pertaining to the failure of the administration to efficiently do so. 

Pioneering Infrastructure

Centurion University is spread across 6 campuses in Odisha. All the campuses have been designed to facilitate the students with modern amenities and comfort. However, some of its campuses are located far away from the main city, which makes it difficult for the students to commute. The classrooms have the provisions of smart classes, LCD projectors, audio-visual aids, etc. 

Students are encouraged to participate in sports events which come under the purview of the sports council. The council is very effective in managing extracurricular activities. All in all the college has a good sports facility. So far, there have been no reports or complaints of any security breaches inside the campus. Good security measures are making it a safe place for the students and staff.

Reasonable Course Fees

Given the experience the students are provided by Centurion University, it is evident that the program fees are economical and not ghastly expensive like its counterparts. Students from various backgrounds can afford such fees. Although, for some courses, the fees might be in a higher bracket. and can even go up to INR 5-6 lakh.

Pleasant Hostel Facilities

Centurion University provides comfortable hostel facilities to boys and girls. The rooms are furnished with daily utilities. The charges for the accommodation are economical. Here’s a glimpse of hostel room type and charges:

Inefficacious Placements

Woefully, Centurion University has drastically failed in providing the necessary placement opportunities to its students. Often, students can be heard lamenting about it on various online interaction platforms. Many of the alums have put a word of caution to the current students about the placement scenario. Many of the past students even have expressed strong opinions about the future students to not join the college if getting placed at a good company is their main motive.

The college does provide training and workshops before the placements to increase employability. As per the students’ insights, the highest CTC offered was INR 35 LPA. Even though it may sound very satisfying, the reality is that the average salary is very low. The lowest can even go down to INR 2 - 3 LPA. Many branches even struggle to have recruiters.

Diverse and Inclusive Campus

Centurion University has taken necessary measures to ensure a very diverse and inclusive campus environment. It currently admits international students as well. As per the latest record, 36% of the students are female, and 33% of the students come from various parts of the country.

The college administration encourages the SC/ST/OBC/Minority students for admission to the college. However, the number of students for the same remain significantly low. Only 6% of SC and 4% of ST students are enrolled in various courses. The university encourages diversity among the faculty members as well. 30% of the faculty members are female.

Uneventful Campus Life

The campus life of the students is engaging. However, it cannot be said to have the most eventful campus. Regular cultural and sports activities are held to engage the students. Overall, the campus is also safe and secure. 

There are no strict rules, regulations or dress codes imposed on the students. However, improper or derogatory behaviour from the staff and students is not tolerated. The administrators in these regards have set stringent policies prohibiting drug abuse, alcohol consumption, ragging, harassment, etc.

Why to Choose Centurion University?

For any student whose ultimate goal deviates from the placement requirements, Centurion University provides an ideal setting. However, if placement is the main motive, the situation is grim. 

The college has made extensive efforts to bring in the latest technologies and collaborate with private organisations to build effective infrastructure and research facilities. The faculties also provide the necessary guidance to achieve the students’ goals.
