Infrastructure facilities at Chaudhary Devi Lal University: University Center for Distance Learning, [UCDL]:

• Library Profile: The Vivekananda Library came into existence in April 2003 prior to that it was Kurukshetra University P.G. Regional Centre. It was shifted to the present building of three-storeyed with all amenities and is centrally located within easy reach from all the Departments, Directorates, hostels and residential areas. Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana inaugurated the new Library building. The Library, at present not only allows the members to borrow books or other resources but also provides well furnished and peaceful reading rooms.

• Library Collection: To cater the needs of the students, teachers, research scholars and staff, the University Library possesses a very rich collection of books, print and back volumes of journals and other reading material as per details given below:

• Library Membership:
  About 6,000 users, including teachers, students, research scholars and staff members usually visit the Library. The faculty members are entitled to borrow 10 books; research scholars 5 books and students are entitled to borrow 3 books.

• Campus Infrastructure: The University has two Teaching Blocks comprising of nearly 100 classrooms, tutorial rooms and rooms for teaching and supporting staff (each), VIP guest house, Vice Chancellor’s residence and 87 houses for the teaching and non-teaching staff and four well-furnished hostels for boys and girls. It houses Science Departments such as Physics, Chemistry, biotechnology, Food science & Technology, Computer Science, Energy & Environmental Sciences and Mathematics. The University has developed its own Media Centre equipped with hi-tech gadgets. An impressive main gate has been inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana on 2nd August 2009. The University has ATM facility of State Bank of India. Medical facility is made available to the students employees through a regular appointed Medical Officer. The University has adopted innovative methods in the conduct of University examinations. The University has also made a distinction in timely declaration of results. The students of this University have shown commendable results in academics as well as co-curricular activities. With the present pace of progress already acquired the University looks forward having a promising future.
