Gokhale Memorial Girl’s College situated in Kolkata, founded by Sarala Ray, popularly known as Mrs. P. K. Ray in the year 1920. She was a great social reformer, educationist and she was one of the first Indian women to acquire a University degree. The College is named after Gopal Krishna Gokhale, a distinguished teacher, educationist and freedom fighter. The College enjoys the differentiation of being the first undergraduate college to be affiliated by the Calcutta University to teach Psychology in the Three Year Degree Course in 1957. It is affiliated to Calcutta University and accredited by NAAC with ‘B’ grade in 2015.
