Classes

Classes of UG and PG standards are conducted as per academic calendar prescribed by West Bengal University of Technology. Experienced faculties guide budding ingenious engineers all through to their objective at their level best. Six days a week curricular programs is followed with Saturday as half working day. Classes commence from 10.30 hrs and continue up to 17.30 hrs officially. But students and faculties stay back beyond official work schedule at the interface of extended laboratory classes, project work and other R&D works.

Hostel

GCELT Hostel is like a home away from home. It is located in a peaceful place just five minutes walking distance from the college. It has good infrastructure for accommodation with clean bathrooms and toilets having uninterrupted supply of water and electricity. It provides accommodation and quality meals at a cheap rate. It also provides free drinking water facility.

The hostel has a library having different books and other instruments. There are also two daily, two weekly newspapers and one monthly magazine is available for improving general awareness.

Library

Govt. College of Engineering and Leather Technology has a huge RFID facilitated library with more than 18,000 books, 16 National Journals and 12 International Journals.

Canteen

The canteen of GCELT is located just beside the college ground and so surrounded by lush greens, thus along with physical refreshments it also provides mental refreshment and a great view of the campus. Because of this reason many students can be found discussing studies or even working on their project in the canteen.

The warm atmosphere and aroma of strong coffee draws student of all years equally and hence helps in developing a sense of unity and deepens the bond amongst all.

The canteen is run by a private party (group) but that party is chosen through government tender, so only the party with best quality-quantity-price combination is allowed to run the canteen. Over a fixed period of time this tender is again issued, thus a standard quality is always maintained by the party.  From fully fledged lunch to small tit bits, tea, coffee, cold drinks all are provided from the canteen for a very reasonable price.

The canteen is open for everyone who comes to visit GCELT and is operational from 9am to 7pm. Lastly it can be said without slightest hesitation that the canteen is an institution by its own right, standing for the values that represents the college and its students equally.
