The Gujarat Ayurved University, [GAU] Jamnagar has a NAAC accreditation of ‘A’ level. The establishment of the university dates as far back as 1965, with a legislation of the State Assembly of Gujarat to facilitate the consolidation of scattered institutions of Ayurvedic Science across the state. The University has sixty years of heritage and is the first Ayurveda University throughout the world. With nearly 06 years of heritage, the university is a pioneer in institutionalizing and preserving the science of Ayurvedic medicine in the country, and across the world. Gujarat Ayurved University, [GAU] Jamnagar offers over 35 different programmes including Yoga and Naturopathy. Programmes are provided at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate and research levels. Apart from this, a host of diplomas and certificate courses are also provided.
Certificate courses in subjects such as Yoga Education, Naturopathy and Therapy are offered in the form of certificate courses. The duration of the C.Y.Ed course is 3 months and the C.Y.N.T course is 4 months. The introductory course in Ayurveda is merely a 12 week course.

The introductory course in Ayurveda can be pursued by any medical practitioner without an age bar. The C.Y.Ed is a course at the undergraduate level and C.Y.N.T is for postgraduate candidates.

Four different options for Diploma are offered by the University. This includes the undergraduate level diploma in Naturopathy, Ayurveda and Health Education (D.Nat-Ayu-HE). The Diploma in Ayurvedic Pharmacy is also an undergraduate programme. At the postgraduate level, Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) is offered in Ayurveda and Yoga-Naturopathy.

The postgraduate programme provides courses in Doctor of Medicine (M.D) and Master of Surgery (M.S) courses. They are both for a duration of 3 years and have a number of subjects available for specializing in. The M.Pharm course in Ayurvedic Medicine is a 2 year PG course.
