Hans Raj has a rich alumni network, almost in every field. There are no entrance exams for courses at Hans Raj college; they are based on the 10+2 aggregate, i.e., the best of four subjects. The typical cut-off for English is about 95% for General and a 5-6% relaxation for the SC, STs, and OBCs. It has to be kept in mind that the best of four must include English and three other subjects from Economics, History, Geography, Mathematics, Philosophy, Sociology, Political Science and Psychology. Including any other subjects will lead to a reduction in the aggregate marks by 1%.
Fees & Scholarships :

The course fee includes tuition fee, exam fee, library fee, and other college amenities. The teachers and governing bodies contribute for prizes and scholarships. Scholarships are of various criteria. The merit-based scholarships are given to students only after a student welfare community interviews them. Academics & Faculty :
Classes at Hans Raj begin early, at about 8:40 am. The average duration of a class is a solid 1 hour. There is a break time at 12:40 pm, and classes resume at 1:00 pm. Usually, the classes last from 4-5 pm.
There are, in total, six semesters, i.e., three years. There are odd and even semesters. Odd semesters have exams during November-December while the even ones have it to May-June. The exam has recently shifted to an OBE mode (Open Book Examination) due to the pandemic.
The faculty is one of the very best at Hans Raj; highly qualified teachers with years of experience provide the best experience. Professors are friendly and a lot of help. Teaching takes place even outside the class; professors take you on long excursion-like walks. In addition, they organize many events and seminars by the English Department that enriches the learning experience.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
Hans Raj College has hostel facilities but with limited seats only for each department. The hostel fees are quite reasonable; it is yearly payable and amounts to INR 8000 to INR 9000 per month. The hostel is neat, and the food is great. But due to high competition and limited seats, everyone is unable to get in.
The PGs can be expensive. The average rent per month stands at INR 20,000. The food and lodging might not be the very best. But if you can afford to go above the INR 20,000 limits, it is possible to get you the very best PGs in Delhi. It is expensive but worth every penny. It has a canteen, lounge and neat little rooms. People also share flats in Delhi, which is a good alternative but requires a lot of maintenance.

For example, Hans Raj has one of the best Drama societies in the whole of DU. Also, the Music society Swaranjali is well known throughout DU. They go for inter-college competitions and IITs all over India to showcase their talents.
Hans Raj holds sports meet and organized various cultural events on campus. The fest season, January-March, is when all the colleges get vibrant and colorful with their fests. It is a great time to showcase your skills and earn some experience.
