With the average package being 7.5L and highest being 18L, I have seen my seniors, mostly, MBAs, getting placed at reputed companies like Reliance, KPMG, Deloitte, L’oréal, Dyson etc, as over 330 companies have come to campus for placement. The student led Placement Committee is dedicated and helpful.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
The registration for interview was free of cost and required basic information, certificates and mark sheets for proof. Class 12 Board marks are given majority weightage but the cut off is not too high. I was also asked to answer 2 supplementary questions (Why I chose this course/What do I plan on doing after) after which I was called for an interview. The interview was with a panel of 2 faculty members and was a 15-20 minute conversation about my interests and aspirations. The administration was prompt with my offer letter.
Fees & Scholarships :
My course fee per year was roughly 3L. However, the Merit Cum Means based Scholarship Schemes, at the discretion of the Admissions Committee and on the basis of your marks/achievements and an interview, is available for everyone. The University offers a 30% Scholarship for 90% and above aggregate in Boards, 20% for 80% and above aggregate in Boards, 10% Fee Waiver for Girl Students, 25% for Haryana Domiciles, 20% for Outstanding Achievements in Sports/Culture, 100% for wards of martyrs and 20% for children of Defense Personnel. As I secured a 98.25%, my 9L overall fee came down to 7.2L for 3 years. Loans can be easily availed.
Academics & Faculty :
The class timings are well spaced out and does not put too much pressure on students. As a BJMC student, along with my core subjects in News and Reporting, Techniques of Editing, Film Making, Advertising etc, I was free to pick my Minor in either Psychology, Design or Business in the first semester itself. The faculty focuses on a liberal pedagogy and real life learning rather than rote learning in classrooms. We are encouraged to engage in presentations, projects, peer-to-peer teaching and working in the media lab. The exams are moderately challenging.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
The campus provides different triple sharing hostels for boys and girls with facilities such as microwave, WiFi etc. Since the 7 acre campus is in the heart of Gurgaon with metro connectivities, PGs and flats are readily available. The air-conditioned class rooms, modern infrastructure, lush green badminton and basket ball courts, delectable and reasonable food in the cafeteria and mess, moot court, media lab and other facilities make the college environment stimulating.
Clubs & Associations :
The main feature that sets IILM apart is the plethora of Clubs and Societies, ranging from course specific clubs to Sports Club, Book Club, Theatre Club, Debate Club, Cultural Society etc. which organises different festivals and activities all year round. This is a time for all students, across batches and courses to bond. The Student-led Placement Committee is dedicated and efficient too. College life is run for and by the students and will make one feel at home.
