IIM Amritsar Admission Process 

IIM Amritsar admission process constitutes a total of four steps. The candidate needs to appear for the relevant entrance examinations followed by the Pre-Personal Interview Process. Then, based on certain cutoff criteria like CAT scores of the previous year, the candidates are selected for PI and finally, the aggregate score is calculated for enrollment.

Step 1: Enrolling and Appearing in the Respective Entrance Examination 

To be considered for selection in the academic year 2025, the aspirants should appear in certain entrance tests relevant to the course and secure valid scores in them. Below listed are the courses along with the entrance tests that the aspirants have to clear to seek admission to their desired courses.

Step 2: Selection of Candidates based on Pre-Personal Interview Scores

The applicants who have appeared for the CAT examination in the previous year and have secured sectional as well as total percentile scores as per the below table are eligible for sitting in the Personal Interview Round. Here, the candidates who have attained a non-zero (positive) score in CAT the previous year would be considered. Those candidates who are among the first to be shortlisted are allowed to appear for the Personal Interview/Written Ability Test.

Apart from the CAT Percentile, marks obtained by the candidates in their 10th and 12th standard examinations, relevant work experience, and gender diversity factors are also taken into consideration for IIM Amritsar MBA Admissions. The weightage for these factors is tabulated below.

The pre-PI scores are calculated based on the merit of the candidate and academic performance. These scores are arranged to create a ranking list from which a considerable number of candidates are called for the Personal Inteview Round.

Step 3: Appearing for the Personal Interview Round

The Personal Interview Round is a very significant part of the admission selection process at IIM Amritsar. The interview panel evaluates the candidate’s academic merit, educational qualifications, work experience, and other personal attributes during the interview round. Interested candidates should accept the admission offer made to them through their registered email ID. The candidates can pay their IIM Amritsar MBA fee in three installments. The commitment charges of INR 50,000 are adjusted against the installment fee paid during term-1.

IIM Amritsar MBA Admissions 2025

IIM Amritsar offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses of two-year duration to the students enrolled. The IIM Amritsar MBA programs help to develop the hidden leadership qualities in the students and make them self-driven learners for a lifetime. They are offered in Business Analytics and Human Resources specializations as well. The candidates who wish to be admitted to the MBA program offered by IIM Amritsar should at least pass their graduation and appear for CAT securing a positive score in the same. Further, they have to appear in the personal interview round where the interview panel tests the educational background of the candidates, their work experience so far, and some of the personal attributes which they should exhibit to be selected for admission to a particular MBA specialization.

IIM Amritsar Integrated B.Tech MBA Admission 2025

IIM Amritsar offers admission to the Integrated B.Tech-MBA program in collaboration with NIT Jalandhar. This program is offered for a five-year duration. Candidates need to give information about their age, academic qualifications, marks obtained, case category, and so on to the interview panel correctly else, the application will not be taken into account for the next selection rounds. Here, the candidates are required to appear in the IIM Amritsar Entrance Test (IET) and attain a non-zero score (positive score) in each IET exam section. IET is a common admission test that the aspirants should appear in to gain admission to IIMs. The test consists of 75 questions based on different aptitude sections like quantitative reasoning, verbal ability, data interpretation, logical reasoning, and so on. The total duration of the test is 120 minutes and the total number of questions that are asked is 75. Each correct response awards three marks to the aspirant while, there is a negative marking of (-1) per answer.

Apart from the IET Scores, other factors like CGPA up to semester 3, gender diversity, and JEE Marks also contribute to a greater extent in the selection of the candidate for the PI Round. Around 70% of weightage in the Pre-PI Scores is occupied by IET Scores followed by 5% weightage occupied by JEE Marks and, 15% by CGPA of the candidate up to semester 3. Around 10% weighage of the Pre-PI Score is occupied by gender diversity.

Apart from the fee that the candidates need to pay to NIT Jalandhar for its B.Tech program, the aspirants who have been enrolled in the Integrated B.Tech-MBA program must also pay the two-year program fee as decided by the IIM Amritsar Board of Governors. Also for B.Tech, the first-year fee shall be paid in four equal installments followed by the second-year fee which is to be paid in three equal installments. The other charges like caution deposit or mess charges are to be paid by the candidate separately apart from the total fee.

IIM Amritsar Executive MBA Admission 2025

IIM Amritsar offers an Executive MBA program to interested aspirants. This program extends over two years and is conducted in hybrid mode. The students need to visit the IIM campus only twice a year. They can attend the live online classes for the rest of the year. The accommodation and food charges of the students are borne by the institute during their campus visits. The IIM Amritsar EMBA admission cycle 1 is beginning today itself. The aspirants can apply for enrollment to this course via the IIM Amritsar official website. The IIM Amritsar EMBA fee should be paid in six installments before the beginning of each term. IIM Amritsar M.Sc in Data Science & Management Admissions 2025

IIM Amritsar offers M.Sc in Data Science and Management for a two-year duration duration in full-time mode. IIM Amritsar offers this program in collaboration with IIT Ropar. There are two semesters in every academic year of this course. The candidates having either a nationally approved and accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree are eligible for enrollment. However, the aspirants need to secure a minimum score in the qualifying examination (either bachelor’s or master’s degree) to be considered for enrollment. Apart from this, the candidates should secure valid marks in entrance examinations like CAT/JAM/GMAT/GRE and so on. Here, the course fee is INR 3,63,250 per semester. 

While accepting the offer, the candidates are required to pay INR 50,000 as the offer acceptance fee and these charges are adjusted against the first-semester fee amount. • Eligibility: Candidates should secure a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying examination (either graduation or post-graduation) and attain valid marks in the CAT/GMAT/GATE/JAM/GRE entrance examinations.
• Selection Criteria: Post attaining the valid entrance scores and marks in the qualifying examination, the candidates are required to sit in the personal interview round and secure passing marks in the same. IIM Amritsar Ph.D Admissions 2025

IIM Amritsar gives a chance to aspirants who wish to conduct research in the management sector by offering them Ph.D courses in specializations like Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Quantitative Methods & Operations Management, and so on. IIM Amritsar supports the students financially who are enrolled in its Ph.D courses by offering them a consolidated doctoral fellowship amount of INR 40,000 per month during the first and second initial years of the program. Further, this fellowship amount is increased to INR 45,000 per month after the completion of the comprehensive examination successfully.
