Ranked third among the top 100 MBA colleges, the International Institute of Business Studies (IIBS), Bangalore, is considered as one of the best MBA colleges in Bangalore. Known for its notable placement record, IIBS achieves good placement statistics each year.

However, strict faculties, moderate infrastructure, and unsatisfactory transport facilities can be a concerning factor among MBA aspirants. The course fees added with the monthly hostel fee are comparatively high, which hinders the confidence of the students applying for IIBS.

MBA: The Flagship Programme at IIBS

The International Institute of Business Studies (IIBS) offers MBA and PGDM courses. The total intake for each academic year is 180. The admissions at the IIBS Bangalore are based on entrance exams like CAT, KMAT, XAT, MAT, and ATMA. IIBS offers postgraduate and undergraduate courses. Among all the courses, IIBS is well known for its MBA programme, which is considered the flagship programme at the Institute. 

Highly qualified and experienced faculties teach MBA. The curriculum is based on the current industrial requirements. Decent placement records held by IIBS attract students from various parts of the country.

Though the fee structure is moderate, students are in a dilemma as to whether paying 8L is worth getting placed with a good package. Furthermore, students must also pay INR 10,000 per month as a hostel fee (annually INR 1,20,000), which makes the fee structure of IIBS hefty.

Placements- The Major Concern

Placements at IIBS Bangalore have a good record. Companies like Facebook, Deloitte, Infosys, Amazon, Accenture, IBM, ICICI Bank, TCS, Aditya Birla Group, Mahindra, and HDFC Bank visit the campus for recruitment.

As per the 2022 placement report, Prismpoint Technologies hired three students for the highest package of INR 48.6 LPA, and the average package for the year 2022 is INR 8.9 LPA. IIBS Bangalore has a dedicated career counselling cell which trains students regarding placements. Mock interviews, group discussions, and aptitude tests are conducted regularly.

Though the placement record is good at IIBS Bangalore, it is quite concerning that the majority of the jobs were offered to marketing students. Students from Finance and Human resources backgrounds often miss getting placed in the top recruiting firms.

Moderate Infrastructure

The International Institute of Business Studies (IIBS) Bangalore has a moderate campus infrastructure but provides good basic facilities. A digitalized library with over 12,000 National and international journals wifi enabled campus and classrooms with digital boards make learning exciting at IIBS. 

The campus is under 24/7 CCTV surveillance to ensure the safely of the students. Strict security makes students feel comfortable and safe in the campus. Classrooms at IIBS are equipped with projectors, podiums, loudspeakers, and air conditioners. Classrooms are well furnished with all the basic facilities provided. 

To make the learning interactive, IIBS has equipped classrooms with audio-visual equipment. Students can make use of the systems provided in each classroom to make presentations.

The cafeteria at the campus is hygienic and provides quick refreshment food. IIBS cafeteria is known to be the hangout spot for students. The cafeteria will be open till late at night, which will be helpful for students.

IIBS Bangalore has multiple sports grounds and coaching facilities. Due to the tight schedule, sports events are being held on a regular basis.

Basic Hostel Facilities

IIBS provide single-occupancy rooms for students with shared bathrooms. Students must maintain the cleanliness of the rooms while the washrooms will be cleaned and maintained by the maintenance staff regularly.

Mess food at IIBS is hygienic, and the menu keeps changing as per the requirements of the students. The student-based mess committee looks after the smooth running of the mess activities.

Life at IIBS Bangalore

IIBS attract students from various parts of the country. Hence, the campus is filled with students with various diversities. However, due to its tight schedule and restless academic calendar, there are fewer cultural activities held on the campus. Students must maintain 75% attendance in order to be eligible for placements. 

Students formed clubs like the Cultural Club, Adventure Club, Excursion & Picnic Club, and Professional Development Club, conduct various activities throughout the year at the campus.

Diversity

Since the college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses, IIBS attracts students from various diversities. The campus strictly prohibits ragging and cares for students' safety. There is no language barrier on the campus as most of the students/faculty members are fluent in English and Hindi.

Dress Code

There is no strict dress code at IIBS Bangalore. Students will be provided with uniforms, and they must wear uniforms whenever needed. Students prefer to wear uniforms only during placement interviews.

Collectively, IIBS Bangalore is a good option for students seeking an MBA/PGDM degree. IIBS offers impeccable learning opportunities blended with industrial approach teaching. Excluding the moderate infrastructure, IIBS offers quality education with decent placement. IIBS Bangalore is expected to grow further in the coming years if it expands its horizon towards extracurricular activities and improves its infrastructure.
