JIMMC Infrastructure: Library, Hostel, Labs, Auditorium, Cafeteria & Other Facilities

The JIMMC library is truly the best in the entire NCR. It boasts of a remarkable collection of over 8000 books, 19 magazines and periodicals and 17 newspapers. One can easily find the latest books and novels as well as a treasure of forgotten texts. Besides innumerable course books it has a good compilation of books on Hindi and English literature. It also has a rare collection of classics, special effects and animation movies and video-game CDs.

This lab is most essential for students as no video-camera or digital visual is complete without proper video-editing and packaging. The look of any type of film is decided only after editing it. The lab has Apple I-MAC systems and other supporting equipment to meet the training requirements of both Journalism and Animation students at JIMMC.

We lay the base for animation of 2-Dimension which includes sketching, drawing, still life, life drawing & outdoor sketching etc. At JIMMC, we help our students to explore and enhance their creativity through the foundation course.

Sculpting is the basic and major training process for the animation course at JIMMC. Students are provided all sculpting related equipment, faculty guidance and facility to strengthen their base through Foundation Classes.

JIMMC classrooms have TV sets and projector facility for comparative and interactive study sessions. The Classrooms are air-conditioned and well ventilated providing a comfortable environment for study and examinations.

The JIMMC studio has a chroma set-up and is equipped with teleprompter, audio console, Sony PD 177 camera, lights and supporting tools. This is where the TV specialisation students practise and make their bulletins. The students of Advertising and PR specialisation also shoot for their TV commercial projects here. The practical training of students is supported by JIMMC’s expert faculty members. Students not only learn about the shooting process but also get to use all the equipment effectively.

This place is bustling with activity all the year round. Here, students meet eminent guests and listen to them, participate in workshops and attend orientation lectures. Student assemblies for academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are also held here. Several in-house debates and elocution programmes and other talent-hunt programmes are organised here. This air-conditioned hall has a large seating capacity and is equipped with projector facility.

To make our future journalists IT savvy and up to date with digital technology, the lab is equipped with all the essential software. Here, students practise typing, page-making, print-graphics, besides researching on the internet.
