Jamia Hamdard, established in 1989, has emerged as one of the best institutions in Delhi along with the renowned institutions due to its influential education culture, helpful faculty and top-rated placements. Along with the fundamental merits, Jamia Hamdard also provides scholarships for selected students on their education journey. 

On the other hand, although the institution is outstanding and well-maintained, Jamia Hamdard lacks proper hostel facilities, average infrastructure maintenance and lack of placement cell initiatives to provide jobs and placements. Let's explore all the points to see the institution's merits and demerits on a broader aspect.

Good and Amiable Faculty

Helpful, cooperative, and kind teachers distinguish Jamia Hamdard’s faculty. These professors possess advanced degrees in their specialities. The professors use excellent teaching approaches and methods for the students to make complex subjects very easy and understandable, which thus helps them to prepare for the industry standards and curriculum. 

The course curriculum of Jamia Hamdard is well-organised, with an emphasis on practicals. Semester exams are moderately tricky, where the pass percentage of the students is 40%. The curriculum is focused on the current educational standards, and regular assignments and assessments from the professors help the students to learn more effectively. 

The institution is affiliated with the University of Delhi. Therefore, it follows the structure and exam pattern of the university’s standard. Irrespective of the pass percentage, the students can appear for the supplementary tests, but unfortunately, they are also tricky.

Varied Placement Records

Jamia Hamdard has a varied range of placement outcomes across its programs. As noticed over the years, 70% of the students from the BCA department were able to get placed. The major recruiting firms, like Mahindra and Mahindra, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, and HCL, come to the institution's placement session. The average salary packages of the employed students were between 3-6.5 LPA.

The famous roles under which the students were hired were web developers, app developers, and software engineers. The post-graduation placements of the students in the department of M.Pharm have excellent placement rates and chances in big, reputed hospitals.

However, placements are much less for undergraduates. The placement cell could be more engaged in the recruiting session of the undergraduate, and most of the undergraduate students are offered internships instead of jobs. The internship rate of the students here is 95%, which is commendable. Biotech students in Jamia Hamdard experience hurdles due to needing more recruiters and industry connections, influencing job chances.

Average Infrastructure

The Jamia Hamdard has extensive Wi-Fi coverage and a student-friendly library. The institution's infrastructure also includes modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, and decent hostel facilities, which create a pleasant study environment. There are medical facilities for the students. The institution's students believe there is room for improvement in infrastructure for hostel amenities, canteen, and sports facilities.

Jamia Hamdard has well-equipped classrooms and labs with excellent and improved technology. The students get access to high-quality Wi-Fi and LAN access throughout the campus. The computer lab contains 40-50 machines. The campus of Jamia Hamdard is notable for its modern and comfortable study environment with well-designed classrooms. Air-conditioned labs add more comfort to the students.

Jamia Hamdard has a decent and neat library. The library has many books which help the students with coursework and reference purposes. Jamia Hamdard offers hostel facilities with satisfactory amenities. The accommodation for the students here includes well-maintained, hygienic rooms. The students believe that the overall hostel facilities are average, but the mess food is excellent and delicious.

The double occupancy rooms in Jamia Hamdard's hostel are equipped with air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable stay, especially in the warm months of Delhi. The hostel's toilet facilities are in good condition. The hostel fees in Jamia Hamdard is very high, where non-AC rooms come down to INR 1 lakh per annum and AC rooms are INR 1.3 lakhs per annum.

Good Campus Life

Jamia Hamdard has all types of events celebrated inside the campus, like cultural fests, conferences, management fest, etc. Jamia Hamdard does not have strict rules on a specific uniform or dress code for the candidates inside the campus.

The candidates are free to choose and dress up in their way. The institution has a mandatory attendance requirement of 75%. The students are bound to fulfill this criterion to be eligible to write the end-semester exams.

Should One Choose Jamia Hamdard?

In summary, Jamia Hamdard presents a favorable choice for students. The students can get a vibrant atmosphere for their education, irrespective of some disadvantages.
