Placements & Internships : Have comparatively good placement cells. Many of them are getting placed in many companies. However, placement has reduced in the recent years.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria are 10+plus two. Admission will be taken on the basis of KEAM or plus two. Maybe students who haven't attended entrance can also get the admission.

Fees & Scholarships : For merit students-same as prescribed by the government. For management seats-definitely more than merit fees

Academics & Faculty : Class time - 9am -4pm. Only average teaching is to be expected. Overall experience is good

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Infrastructure facilities are competitively good. They have a hostel and canteen. Friends staying in the hostel have been complaining about the untasty food. But canteen premises are neat and clean.

Clubs & Associations : Student societies - IEEE, IEDC, NSS, Scouts. In the recent years sports and other festivals are not being encouraged. But this year students have gathered together and they are organising some programs. Life in the college is good till now.

Placements & Internships : The placement provided by the college is worst. They actually cheates the student showing fake placements. They even posted pictures of students who got job  on their own as placed from college. They impose huge fees on placements and doesnt provide anything much other than some personal devolopment classes.

Academics & Faculty : Talking about the academics, some teachers who care about students future really helps a lot. Their classes are good. But on the other hand, many teachers are people of management and what they know is abusing and torturing the students. So cant guarantee about the academics in the college.

Placements & Internships : I have completed a 3-day internship as part of my curriculum at Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad. There are many companies hiring from Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad. I don't know about the salary for previous students. The Alumni network of JCET, Palakkad is not that active.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : To be Eligible for admissions at Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad, the cut-off marks are 60% in Maths, Physics and Chemistry (PCM). I didn't attend any entrance exam for getting an admission during the time I joined up. A 50% aggregate in your 12th is the typical cut-off for this course.

Fees & Scholarships : The course fee per annum at JCET, Palakkad is Rs. 75,000. But after adding all miscellaneous fees it will come up to about Rs. 83,000 in total. All scholarship options are available for candidates opting for it. I'm not sure about the number, but about 50% usually get scholarships. If necessary, we can avail educational loans from any banks.

Academics & Faculty : The class timings at Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology, Palakkadusually starts from 9 am till 4 pm. There is a project is in the final year. There are 2 series exams per semester and a model exam if there is enough time in completion of the semester. Assignments are also there to be submitted twice per semester. The campus provides a good quality of teaching. The entire experience at the college is not too bad.

Placements & Internships : You can do internships at government undertakings near the college, like SIFL and the KINFRA defence park which are near the college with decent stipends. Key IT companies like Sutherland, Infosys, Wipro, and Tata consultancies, manufacturing companies like Larsen and Toubro, Apollo tyres and other companies like Accenture and Indian Navy visit Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology for providing placements. Salary figures start from Rs. 1 lakh to even Rs. 10 lakh per annum. Almost 60 to 75% of students get placed every year. Alumni consists ex-IIT professors as HODs and post graduates with minimum experience of at least 10 years in teaching college students as assistant professors.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for joining the Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology is clearing the KMAT KERALA exam or the students can join through management quota also. Their typical cutoff was 70% in physics, chemistry, and mathematics together for KMAT, 50% in above-said subjects for management quota. There is also an NRI quota for which there are a lot of procedures and is also very expensive.

Fees & Scholarships : My course fee in Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology is around Rs. 60k per annum including textbooks due to my reservation. Actually, the fee amount comes up to Rs. 75k per annum for govt quota (CEE), Rs. 99k per annum for management quota, and around Rs. 150k per annum for NRI quota. Scholarships are available, only to those students who have cleared CEE Kerala meritoriously or to those who fall under SC/ST/OBC category or economically backward students. There are scholarships for any number of students if they perform meritoriously after joining the course in semester exams. Education loans, if needed are provided by banks like SBI/SBT/PNB/Garmin Bank etc. The college assists in easy obtaining of the loans.

Placements & Internships : The internship programmes are there in the academics. Also,  it can be done in our desired companies, all you have to do is to find a suitable slot from the company that you want to take your internship and obtain a bonafide certificate from the college principal for that.  There are several scholarships from the government for students. If you are a minority then much more would be your allowances. Also, the general category also has certain good scholarships from Kerala and central governments. Do check scholarships.gov.in website for further information. Mostly key IT companies are coming for the recruitment programmes. Reputed companies like TCS,Infosys,Microsoft have recently taken several of our students from the campus. Also Indian Navy has also done their recruitment programme, which also a very good sign of our quality. Along with these, off-campus drives are also there, which is also a good way for students to get placed in several other reputed companies. In campus placement, salary figures are  mostly offered around INR 20,000 and which is the best figure for freshers. The students who all are qualified(without arrears or max. of 2 arrears and 60% aggregate score) are eligible for placement programmes. Most of our students are eligible for placements. The percentage of the students depends on the weightage of university exams, I believe it will be more than 60%. Alumni programmes are the other attractive part. The alumni network keeps the track of all passed out batches and assist them to get placed in any jobs, conducts reunions, extracting students' ideas and new experiences etc.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria and admission procedure include following requirements:  You have to choose science stream in 11th and 12th classes in school. And it's better to choose Computer science or any other technical subject for that instead of biology. It will be very helpful while pursuing B.Tech. The 11th and 12th must be completed under an affiliated school or certified board(state boards, CBSE,ICSE, etc.)   You have to apply under Kerala Technological University and appear for entrance exam conducted by them. The applying procedure will be given in the prospectus of the entrance programme. It will be commencing around 1st week of January every year. Also, you can join a college in Kerala under management or NRI quota, but for management quota, you must qualify for the entrance exam. Rest of the details shall be fetched from the college that you want to join. Spot admission is also there based on seat availability. I suggest it's better to proceed with the merit quota so that you can do the course in government prescribed fee structure.  The cutoffs for appearing the entrance is that you have to score a minimum of 60% each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) papers in board exam.

Fees & Scholarships : As per our admission procedure, the annual tuition fee for merit quota is Rs.65k . But, the recent norms have changed the fee to a less figure of around Rs. 50k. Along with tuition fee , there is hostel and mess fee for hostlers. Which is around Rs. 45k and is a reasonable price I believe. But, for management and NRI quota the tuition fee may vary according to the management norms. It can even go up to a lakh. For day scholars there is college bus facility which they can avail if they want. It costs around Rs.20k and may vary according to the situations like fluctuations in fuel price, drivers' wage etc. Students who have scored better ranks in entrance and score school board exams have a reduction in tuition fee, which is a good scholarship for them. And those others can avail several other scholarships from the government, for that the scholarships' wing in college will assist you. Several scholarships like post-matric scholarships, e-grants, etc. are there. Do check www.scholarships.gov.in website frequently and enquire scholarships' wing of the college admin office. Students who all are eligible can apply for the scholarships. The reduction in college tuition fee will be given to 10 students who have scored higher marks in the school board exams and also there is fee reduction for those students who have very low annual family income. For that income, a certificate must be submitted during the admission process. Loans are needed for those who can't afford a total of around 1 lakh (including tuition fee, hostel fee, mess fee or college bus fee) every year. Educational loans are available from almost all banks. And it requires only fewer formalities. It's better to take loans from Govt. recognised banks as it would be helpful to get subsidies from the Govt. Banks like Canara, Punjab National Bank, SBI etc. are some of them.

Academics & Faculty : Daily routine in the college is as follows: *Class starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM. *Three breaks, Morning break at 11:00 AM(10 minutes), Lunch break at 12:10 PM[for 1st and 4th-year students] or 1:00 PM[for 2nd and 3rd-year students] (50 minutes), and Afternoon break at 3:00 PM. *Classes are from Monday through Friday, and Saturday class are only there if there are any special classes. *Projects are given on the basis of syllabi. There will be a Mini or Interim project(3rd year) and the Main project(4th year). *Assignments are given every month or once two weeks. Special assignment books are given for that. *Exams are conducted by the college for internal assessment. Mainly there two sessional exams(with partial topics) and one model exam(with full topics). The semester exam is conducted by Kerala Technological University(KTU) at the end of the semester. Along with theory exams, practical exams are also conducted. Quality and method of teaching are excellent. Proper and on-time notes are given to the students along with lectures. Home works and class tests are there for keeping better track of studies. The overall experience in the college is very good. A peaceful atmosphere for studying and activities. There are several strict discipline rules, but are bearable and won't affect your college life adversely and will help you to achieve your best in every aspect including studies, cultural and co-curricular activities, sports, games, etc.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Separate hostels are there for boys and girls. Men's hostel is within the campus. Women's hostel is located outside the campus and they will be given special transportation facility for that by college bus. Hostels are very clean and neat. Toilets are cleaned every day. Also, bath attached rooms are there and can be availed for those students who need those type of rooms. Apart from college hostel, PGs and student managed hostels are also available outside the campus. Most of them have a rent of Rs.1000 per month and food can be arranged by yourself or we can order from them or nearby hotels. So the food will cost you around Rs.4000 per month and may vary according to the days that you take their food every month. The food in the college canteen is  good and costs only reasonable amount. The separate cafeteria is there for tea, coffee, cool drinks, ice creams and snacks. Costs of food items may vary according to time. But basically, a meal costs only Rs.30 , Parathas and Chappathis Rs.8, snacks from Rs.8 to Rs.25, Tea Rs.8, lemonade Rs.10 etc. The quality of the classes and other infrastructure is pretty nice. Labs are maintained by qualified lab assistants. Library with lots reference books and reading corners. Also, E-journals can also be browsed in the e-library. Wi-Fi facility and network labs are there for students' communication and other reference purposes. Mobile phones are allowed on the campus during breaks only. Other key infrastructures include administrative block, aviation block, main block(for B.Tech students), laboratory block, hanger etc.

Clubs & Associations : Students' have several clubs for utilising their better potential in all aspects of their life. NCC is there for girls. NSS is there and is very active in the college. Associations are there for each department and they carry out several activities within and outside the campus on behalf of their department. Main festivals include Onam celebrations, Christmas celebrations, and other cultural festivals. Among cultural festivals, Bloom fest is the bigger one and is actually a huge one literally. It includes 3 days of off-stage programmes and 2 days of on-stage programmes with so many reputed celebrities. College day is there for expressing everyone's talents. Tech fest, SITE is another fun fest of technical arts. This is a huge technical fest hosting several schools and colleges along with the college's presentations each engineering department. Good prizes are offered for best events, models and paper presentations. Life in college is pretty fun and good. You may find little hard in the beginning but eventually, it'll get better once you make better friendships. Rules within the campus are a little hard but will help you to mould yourself to a true person of good qualities, and you won't find them difficult anymore. When you get into final days of your college you will definitely start to miss them.
