Entrance Exams & Admissions :
Candidates must have at least a UG degree to apply for the course. The MASCOM conducts an entrance test for admission since the available seats in the course are less. The first 20 rank holders are called for admission.
Placements & Internships :
The placement opportunities are plenty in the institute. Many reputed news companies like The Week, Malayala Manorama, Manorama News, The New Indian Express, etc. visit the campus. The companies offer lucrative salaries. The alumni network is very good. Almost all newsrooms have Mascomites. The week has close to 10 subeditors who are alumni of MASCOM.
Academics & Faculty :
The print journalism (English) is handled by the MASCOM Director himself, known as KTO. The curriculum is tailor-made to create professionals out of students. The training given are in standard with the industry. By the end of the year, students will be skilled in news reporting and editing.

Onam and Christmas are celebrated inside the campus. Every year MASCOM day is celebrated where the students can exhibit the work that they had done throughout the year as part of the curriculum. On this day, many reputed journalists visit the campus.
