Library
In the wake of rapid technological advancement, the role of library has to be redefined and remoulded. A library has to function in accordance with the changing needs and demands. The Marian Library has undergone tremendous changes in its functioning by adopting latest technologies so as to give the users quick access to print and electronic information resources.
Hostel
Marian College has been providing hostel facilities for its students from the very beginning itself. In 1995, the Charles Villa at Peermade was converted into the Gents’ hostel. From 1996, the college started providing residential facilities on the campus. The ground floor of the present academic block was the first Gents’ Hostel, called 'Maryknoll'.
The increasing number of admissions demanded a separate hostel building. Bishop Paul Iby, the Bishop of Eisenstadt, Austria, laid the foundation stone for a new hostel building in 1999. The building was completed in 2002, and he himself blessed the hostel on 21 April, 2002.
There are 56 rooms at the Paul Iby Hostel, that accommodate 224 students, at 4 students to a room. This hostel is designed in a manner that it provides two indoor shuttle courts and enough free space for the inmates.
Computer Lab
Marian College has an impeccably furnished computer lab that houses close to 200 computer terminals networked and administered by efficient administrators. Separate areas are provisioned for the PGs and UGs. There are also special labs for the international certification programs run by the college. MCA students enjoy round the clock lab facility. Moreover the lab choreographs the connectivity needs for the completely automated campus.
Language Lab
Marian has a full-fledged 32 seat state-of-the-art language lab, which is the best in the state. Language studies require specific hardware and software to achieve their pedagogical goals. The Lab does have up-to-date instructional materials. The language lab has computer-based equipments on all seats, to take the students beyond the tape recorder and earphones of a generation ago.
The Language Laboratory is used to complement classroom based work and will develop your listening skills as well as help you to perfect your accent and intonation. Grammar tuition will form an important part in developing the accuracy, clarity and fluency of both your written and spoken language skills. The lab offers short term courses in any foreign languages, on demand.
Audio Visual Hall
Marian college has an excellent audiovisual hall regularly used by several department for conducting presentations and entertainment activities like the screening films, documentaries on relevant topics, etc. The halls with a capacity to seat more than 60 persons is equipped with state-of-art equipment like wide projection screen, LCD projector and surround sound audio system.
Auditorium
Marian auditorium is the major seating area on the campus with support facilities for celebrations, congregations, performances, college gatherings, etc. The auditorium is well equipped with multi-channel audio and video facilities. It provides the setting for management events and corporate interaction programmes.
Conference Hall
An aesthetically furnished state of the art conference hall with a seating capacity of 300 is part of the ultra modern infrastructure at Marian College. The hall is well equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual and presentation tools to facilitate smooth presentations during industry interaction programmes and conferences. It is here, where many extra curricular activities like seminars, workshops, inter college youth festivals, college farewell, welcome parties, staff meetings, student reunions, etc. are carried out.
Cafeteria
Besides the mess halls at the respective hostels, there is a cafeteria on the campus, where one could grab a quick bite. It is managed by the School of Hospitality Management. Located near the college auditorium, the cafeteria provides a number of dining options. Monday through Saturday, from 10.00 a.m. to 6.30. p.m. the cafeteria is open, serving a choice of light snacks, fresh juice and baked goods and fast food.
Guest House
The international guest house on the campus provides luxurious accommodation facilities. It caters to the guest faculty, programme directors and visitors from all over the globe. Parents visiting Marian are also provided accommodation and their welfare is always the first concern.
Gymnasium
Whether you are passionate about our physique or not, you can benefit form the multi gym on the campus. The gym contains state-of-the-art facilitates and equipment including tread mill, CV machines, fixed machines and free weights. Students as well as the faculty can make use of the facilities of the gym. For beginners, training is given in the use of equipment by an expert instructor. The department of Physical Education oversees the functioning of the Gymnasium.
Marian Healthcare Centre
Marian College provides free first aid health service for students and staff on the campus itself. A comprehensive range of services is provided. The centre is always manned by an efficient nurse, who deals with emergencies, injuries and illnesses. The nurse is in attendance daily from Monday to Friday 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. A doctor visits Marian campus on all Tuesdays to provide professional health service. Appointments are available form 9.30 am to 4.00 pm on Tuesdays. Counseling and advice on healthy lifestyle, weight control, blood pressure management and disease prevention is also offered through the centre. The Marian Healthcare Centre is fully equipped to handle most of the medical emergencies, and the graver emergencies are referred to the hospitals in the immediate vicinity that handles all complex medical situations effectively. The clinic is closed on holidays, and during vacation months.
Marian Online Maintenance Tracking System
The College has developed an in-house Online Maintenance Tracking System for upkeep of infrastructure. The maintenance requirements of staff or students can be posted through the following link for actions to be taken.
Counseling Centre
Marian Counseling Centre provides a varied range of services for personal, career and educational concerns. Students facing personal, emotional or study problems may find it helpful to talk to the Counselor at the centre. This can be a way of taking responsibility for your self and of taking positive action. Although there may not be immediate or practical solutions to your difficulties, talking them through can often clarify your thoughts and feelings and may help you to see a way forward. The Counseling Centre has the service of a professionally trained and widely experienced Counselor. Strict confidentiality is ensured, and the service is available both on an individual and group basis. The Counselor offers sessions, several times a week, for emergency appointments.
