The National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) is one of the best institutes that are dedicated to the development of dairy research. The National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal was originally started as Imperial Institute of Animal Husbandry and Dairying in 1923 at Bangalore. It was expanded and renamed Imperial Dairy Institute in 1936 and was known as National Dairy Research Institute after independence in 1947.
All the candidates who have applied for the National Dairy Research Institute will be ranked based on their normalized marks from all the qualifying examinations. The ranking list will be put on the official University website. The dates of counseling for all students will also be put up on the notice board. Students must attend counseling on the dates they are given. No change of date/time is allowed. Selected students need to pay the college fees within days of counseling. Q: What is the reservation criteria followed for admission?
A: The reservation criterias are listed below. 50% of total seats are reserved for bonafide candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes, 27% for OBC, and 3% for Physically Handicapped subject to their being otherwise eligible. 2% seats are reserved for remote and underprivileged states/UTs (UPS). Candidates from UPS will have to produce a domicile certificate issued by the competent authority at the time of counseling. The reservation of seats amongst the SC/ST categories is interchangeable if a sufficient number of candidates is not available in a given subject as per merit-rank in the examination.
