The journey of Plaksha was started in 2015 as a conversation among a few friends about how and why technology education needs to change. In February 2019, Plaksha’s campus in Mohali took place with an aim of opening the campus in August 2021.
The institute offers various B.Tech progarmmes at UG level in areas such as Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Cyber-Physical Systems, Data Science, Business and Economics, Biology Systems Engineering, etc. Plaksha also offers admission to Young Tech Scholars (A two-week intensive summer programme) and Tech Leaders Fellowship.

The institute will be offering four highly interdisciplinary UG programmes in the Engineering stream from August 2021. Each course is unique, cutting-edge, aligned with the needs of the 21st century. B.Tech programmes have been designed to develop academic depth as well as skillsets and mindsets that will stay with the candidates throughout their life irrespective of the paths they choose. In each of their 4-years course, candidates will be required to take a few core classes (Across disciplines) as well as electives in various fields of study. The admission to UG programmes will take place from November 2024 to June 2021. The classes will be starting in August 2021.
Candidates seeking admission to various B.Tech programmes must fill up the online application. After that, candidates have to appear for virtual interaction. They may apply for merit and need-based scholarships. Eligible candidates will receive the final decision on a rolling basis.

Candidates should be currently enrolled in grade 12 or equivalent or must have completed 10+2 or equivalent. Plaksha admission accepts applicants from all recognized nationally as well as international boards. It is mandatory for all applicants to study Mathematics till Class 12. Candidates opting for majors in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Cyber-Physical Systems, and Biological Systems Engineering must have studied Physics till Class 12. For candidates with Cambridge International A levels, a minimum of three subjects is required to apply. For candidates with International Baccalaureate, applicants are being accepted from both IB Diploma and IB Certificate Course as long as the candidates have subject prerequisites. Candidates in IB Certificate Course must have taken at least 6 subjects (3 Standard Level and 3 Higher Level).
Candidates can apply once in any of the four rounds of the admissions cycle 2024. There is no difference in applying in either of the four rounds. Candidates are advised to apply early so that they receive decisions earlier. There is a Financial Aid form that is available to candidates only after they have been shortlisted for the interview round. The admission decision taken by the Admissions Committee is final, hence no requests for re-evaluation will be considered. All candidates are required to upload copies of their official transcripts for the standardized tests.
The College Board Designated Institution (DI) code for Plaksha is 7837. Indian applicants can send their scores free to Plaksha through the official College Board account. The admission offer will be revoked if the applicant does not clear Class 12th satisfactorily. The application requirements for B.Tech admission are as follows:
To receive a confirmed admission offer to B.Tech programmes, candidates are required to submit at least any of the following entrance test scores. Those who do not have any of the entrance test scores may apply using predicted grade 12 scores.
Plaksha Tech Leaders Fellowship (TLF) is a one-year fully residential programme offered at PG level. The programme consists of top-notch faculty from around the world such as UC Berkeley, Purdue University, IIT Mumbai, UPenn, Google, IBM, etc. Eligible candidates can apply through Plaksha TLF portal. The admission process consists of filling the application form, online test, and interview.
Candidates must be a graduate, working professional, or entrepreneur to be eligible for the fellowship. They also must have a basic understanding of sufficient coding in at least one high-level language such as Python, C, C++, R, JAVA, etc. A strong understanding of Mathematical concepts such as statistics, probability, linear algebra, etc are also considered for admission.
Plaksha also offers admission to the Young Technology Scholars (YTS) programme, which is a two-week intensive summer course where candidates are exposed to real-world engineering and problem-solving. Young Technology Scholars programme is offered by the Reimagining Higher Education Foundation, which is the founding body of Plaksha. The foundation is backed by more than 60 academic and business leaders from 5 countries. Young Technology Scholars programme has been designed by senior faculty from leading universities in collaboration with alumni from top institutes such as Stanford, HBS, UC Berkeley, IIT, etc. Candidates can sign up or register and further fill up the application form for YTS through the Young Technology Scholars website.
