IT Infrastructure

PGC has state-of-the-art IT Infrastructure and Fibre Optic Network across the Campus. The Campus has IT Infrastructure that can support more than 1200 Computer Systems and is completely Wi-Fi enabled.

Facilities

Hostel

The students are admitted in the PGC from all parts of the country. Institute provides hostel accommodation to the students. 

There are three hostels in this institute. Two for boys and one separate for girls..The hostels are in proper shape and provides various basic facilities to the students. Each hostel has got its own mess.

Below are the hostel facilities available, subject to variation with respect to the hostel and/or room pattern allotted:

• Separate hostel facility for boys and girls within the campus

• Semi furnished rooms

• Adequate ventilation and lighting facility

• Air cooler facility within the rooms of hostel

• Arrangement for 24 hours uninterrupted power supply through dedicated hotlines

• Internet connectivity through Wi-Fi system

• Hot water in winters (scheduled timings)

• Facilities for indoor and outdoor games like Table tennis, Badminton, Football, Basket Ball, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis, Cricket, Hockey etc.

• Power backup for light load

• Hygienic mess facility with vegetarian meals only

• 24 hours security

• Gymnasium facility (optional on payment basis)

• Newspapers and magazines are provided to students on demand.

Laboratories

• We offer State-of-the-art Labs.

• very well equipped laboratories with modern equipments.

Library

The Institute library was set up in 2002, and having the floor area of 400 square meters. The library has got the seating capacity of 50 readers in reading halls. Library follows the open access system, it facilitate the users to browse and pick up the documents of their choice without any hindrance. By making accessible a rich collection of print and non-print, primary and secondary material in various disciplines, the Libraries support the academic as well as research needs of students and hundreds of teachers of the Institutes.

Facility

• Internet: Wi-Fi Library. Students can use their own laptops.

• Reference Service: Ready help and guidance is provided to all patrons searching for any book or other reference material within the libraries.

• The Libraries house a rich collection of text and reference books, journals, magazines, audio/videos, CD-ROMs, research reports, online Journals and databases and data analysis software, etc. in various areas of study in all disciplines.

• Xerox Facility: For the convenience of staff and students, the libraries have Xerox machines to offer Xerox facility.

• Motivate Students/Teachers to Read Existing and New Arrivals: A ‘new arrival list` of newly acquired books is prepared department wise and sent to each department.

Canteen

PGC understands that the refreshment time is the time when a student takes break from the studies to relax and thus eating area has been especially designed with clean and comfortable environment where they can enjoy their food. College cafeteria is open to students, staff and other visitors to the campus. The cafeteria serves fresh & hot meals and menu has been planned meticulously to best fit the needs of the students. A favorite spot of students, the cafeteria provides hygienic and healthy foods, snacks and beverages at affordable price.

Sports

With a view to develop the all round personality of the students, the PGC emphasizes equally on sports. It is the constant Endeavour of the college to see that the students grow intellectually as well as physically. The physical Education Department of the College regularly organizes Inter Collegiate competitions in various sports events and Inter College Tournaments in games. The students are encouraged to take part in indoor & outdoor games and sports as the games constitute an integral part of education. Besides providing physical and mental discipline, they inculcate in students the noble qualities of team spirit, discipline, sportsmanship and self-confidence.  A large playground in the campus is well equipped for cricket, hockey, football, basketball and other games.

Our motive is to maximize access, development and excellence at all levels of participation in sport in order to improve social cohesion, nation building and the quality of life.

Medical Facility

PGC has its own dedicated health centre for the better health care of its students and staff. It is equipped with basic medical facilities and in case of emergency, patients are referred to the GOVT. Hospital, Lalru Mandi. Presently, the health centre is serving the strength of more than 500 undergraduate and postgraduate students, faculty and staff members. To deal with emergency cases, college transport is available round the clock to carry the patients for treatment at surrounding hospitals.

Banking ATM

The College offers elaborate banking services within the campus premises. There is one fully functional branch of Indian Overseas Bank in the college Apart from regular banking services to the students and the employees of the College, students and staff can use IOB & PNB ATM facility to facilitate access to bank accounts for cash withdrawals. This facility can be availed by the students and staff of the college. On enrolment, every student can open an account with bank and can make full use of banking services, Internet Banking and A.T.M. facilities.

Transport

The Bus service operates on a self financed, no profit - no loss basis on all working days, at fixed timings. The central points are determined by the transport committee. Transport facility is allotted on annual basis to students admitted for regular programme for the duration of regular academic session.
