University School of Engineering, (USET) Mohali Campus Highlights

Rayat Bahra University emphasizes the harmonious development of the students accompanying co-curricular activities. There are various student-run clubs on the campus. Its primary function is to showcase the talent of the members of the club. The following clubs are constituted in the upcoming session.

The University School of Engineering has a wide range of options that meet the needs of the students. Some of them are mentioned below.

Library

• The Students and staff at the Campus have access to model libraries which provide a dynamic and creative space for learning.
• There is also a specialized collection that may prove useful for research and dissertation work.
• There is also a wireless network in the Library.
• There are specialized librarians who liaise with academic departments to make sure that all the right books for each course are stocked well.

Data Structure & Programming Methodology Lab

• The lab provides the students with a fairly good concept of the fundamentals of data structures and also of the commonly occurring algorithms.
• It presents the general approach towards analyzing and evaluating and implementing the database algorithms.

Relational Database Management System Lab

• This lab provides exposure to use databases and build an RDBMS. For this, they are provided with the server-based ORACLE software.
• To make them learn more effectively, students are given projects for implementation.

Computer Network Lab

• In this lab, students are trained in various networking technologies and given a fair amount of exposure to the design and implementation of networks.
• Extensive campus-wide network real-time experiment test bed for students to learn.
  Students are taught to design, implement, secure analysis, and manage networks.

System Programming Lab

• In this lab, the students design and understand the functioning of interpreters and compilers.
• The objective is to make the students realize the processes involved during the parsing and analysis of the source code.

Operating System Lab

• This lab allows the students to study and appreciate various features of popular operating systems i.e. LINUX along with the features of the core and its kernel.

Software Engineering Lab

• The students are acquainted with the repertoire of principles, tools, and techniques (like Rational Rose) and the approach being used in the industry for software development.

Data Communication Lab

• This lab provides students with in-depth knowledge of data communication technologies.
• The Lab is equipped with the latest data communication trainers, LAN trainers, simulators, and test & measurement equipment.

Artificial Intelligence Lab

• The students are exposed to the basic as well as advanced concepts related to artificial intelligence such as the implementation of heuristic search procedures and expert systems.

Fundamentals Of Computer Programming And Information Technology Lab

• This lab provides the much-needed exposure to the basic programming language and information technology to help students effectively exploit the potential of computers in the course of studies and their preparedness for
  professional life.

Computer Graphics Lab

• This lab further hones the programming skills of the student by inculcating the knowledge of using graphics like Rendering, animation, and modeling for interactive computer graphics.

Sports Facilities

• The University provides all necessary facilities and equipment to the students for maintaining physical fitness and good health.
• The Campus has well equipped, Basketball Courts, Cricket ground, Hockey courts, Volley Ball Courts, Handball Courts, Football ground, etc.
• Indoor Badminton Courts, Table Tennis facilities, snooker/pool, Strengthening and Weight Training Gymnasium are there.
• In addition, there are also facilities for Wrestling, Judo, Chess and other indoor games.
• All the games have sports equipment of International standards which is easily accessible to all students.

Canteen & Shopping Complex

• In-house well-equipped canteen and shopping complex is provided for at all campuses to cater to the needs of the students and staff.
• In addition to the wide selection of food and sundries, stationery, and magazines, the campus convenience store is adding various services to make students' lives easier such as door-to-door delivery, dry cleaning, etc.

Medical Centre

• In-house medical facilities are available on the campus round the clock.
• A Medical Officer is present on the campus to take care of the medical needs of the students.
• Limited hospitalization facilities are also available.
• The Campus Medical Centre is connected with the specialized hospitals located in the neighboring towns.

Transport

• Bahra University has a fleet of 12 ultra-modern buses which ply in the areas of Shimla, Solan and nearby areas, the bus service is available to staff and students of Bahra University.
• The buses are fully equipped with all safety measures and First Aid kits.

Laundry

• The school has a laundry with modern laundry equipment to train the students in the operations of Laundry in a hotel.
