Among many instruments, it has USP Dissolution Test Apparatus (Fully Automatic 6 Bowl) Shimadzu UV Double Beam Spectrophotometer, Tablet Punching Machine Humidity Controlled Oven and many more.

Pharmaceutical Microbiology & Biotechnology Laboratory:
This laboratory is designed for class A aseptic area for Parenteral manufacturing as well as microbiological manipulations, this will help the students to familiarizes with current good manufacturing practices (CGMPs), design development and maintenance of aseptic area, growth, cultivation, isolation and identification of microbes. It also familiarizes the students with procedures for sterility testing and microbiological assays. It stores all the required instruments like Laminar Air Flow Bench, Autoclave, Hot Air Oven, Incubator, Antibiotic Zone Reader, Colony Counter, Fermenter etc….

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY
Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry has 2 Laboratories one dedicated to Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and the other dedicated to Biochemistry & Medicinal Chemistry. The department provides extensive scope for practical training in pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry, synthesis, practical training is also offered in organic chemistry, biochemistry and inorganic chemistry with well designed experiments,
The Laboratories are well equipped with sophisticated equipments like Melting point apparatus, Heating Mantles, Hot plate, Hot air oven etc. Also preparation room with full of chemicals is provided in laboratory. Preparation room also contains glass wares used for practicals. Fuming cup board has also been provided in the laboratory for complicated and vigorous reactions like Halogination, Reduction etc.
The laboratory contains approximately 150 chemicals for practical training of Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry & Biochemistry. Each laboratory has individual student reagent rack which contains all reagents like Fehling’s Reagent, Benedict’s reagent, Schiff’s reagent, and Millon’s reagent etc., used for qualitative analysis practicals in Organic, Inorganic, and biochemistry.

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS:

Pharmaceutical Analysis Laboratory:
Pharmaceutical Analysis is one of the most important specialized branches of Pharmaceutical Sciences which is involved with the Quality Control of Pharmaceutical Products. Elaborate pharmacopoeial methods are used for the analysis and quality control of drugs and pharmaceuticals. This laboratory helps students familiarize with the modern methods of analysis, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and in-process quality control, etc.

Central Instrumentation Room:

Equipped with the latest state-of-art analytical instruments, this laboratory assists the students to acquire hands-on training on these instruments, to undertake practical training in pharmaceutical and analytical chemistry and assist research work. The Room has been well equipped with Sophisticated Instruments and other necessary facilities required for the Quality Control of Drugs and Formulations like Fluorescence photometer, Double Beam UV-VIS Spectrophotometer (SHIMADZU), Flame Photometer, Karl Fischer Titrator, pH Meter, Analytical Balance, Polarimeter, Potentiometer, Conductivity Meter, Refractometer and others.

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOGNOSY
Pharmacognosy is the study of drugs in their crude condition. It is one of the branches of Pharmacology, which in its broad sense consists of the study of remedial agents or Materia Medica. Study of Pharmacognosy would include the knowledge of drugs with reference to botany and chemistry, if of vegetable origin or of their zoology and chemistry if derived from the animal kingdom.
The infrastructure of the Department includes state of the art laboratory with all the facilities for isolation, characterization and estimation of phyto-constitutents. It is meant to familiarize students about various plant families with charts and photographs of crude drugs for morphological studies, enriched with specimen of various medicinal plants and quantitative microscopy. The Department is also well equipped. The Laboratory provides esteemed guidelines to the students regarding natural sources of drugs and Phytochemical screening through various instruments like Binocular microscope, Projecting microscope, TLC spreader, Muffle furnace, Clevenger’s apparatus and Soxhlet’s apparatus for isolation of various active constituents. We assist regional people for the identification of medicinal plants by providing important morphological features of original medicinal plants located in herbarium museum.
Medicinal garden within the campus is there to cater the need of Pharmacognosy department. The medicinal plants are tagged with their biological nomenclature and categories used in Phytochemistry and Pharmacognosy. In Pharmacognosy museum, we have 200 medicinal crude plants available with its nomenclature. In future, the department will also going to start M. Pharm in the subject, hence we are planning to expand the garden in terms of introducing new medicinal plants and also make broad in terms of equipments.
