Entrance Exams & Admissions :
Eligibility criteria Hsc passes with PCB or PCM or PCB and prescribed entrance test by the university of Mumbai. I took admission on the basis of my KCET score, however, this might change due to dynamic changes in criteria for eligibility as per the university of Mumbai.
Typical Cutoff varies over a course on basis of the exams toughness, however, I got admission with my KCET score of 91. I can suggest a range of almost 100 wud be enough to get admission. Remember: go until the last round of admission as there is always some seat vacant. Avoid paying a donation.
Placements & Internships :
Internship after 3rd year is compulsory part of syllabus. But hardly any company pays you stipend. Only pharma based companies will hire you.
Average Salary for bpharm freshers ranges from Rs.1.5 to 3 lakh per year. Highest salary can go upto 4 to 5 lakh if you are being hired by a multinational company. 5-10% of total batch gets placed.
Alumni network average.
Fees & Scholarships :
Course fee ranges from Rs.1 to 1.10 lakh.
Scholarship options are lent by the government for minorities and backward classes, the college may readily agree to take all the fee from the money that comes from the government if you request the management, the college does not provide any scholarship of itself to the students.
Education Loans can be easily availed from any bank.
Academics & Faculty :
Class timings are quite tedious as most of the days stretch from 845 to 530 in the urge of completing the syllabus. Professors may take extra lecture as per their convenience. There are no projects in pharmacy. Exams are well organized and we are never overburdened with the assignment.
They method of teaching and quality is good. The professor takes the personal interest in covering up the whole of the syllabus with full justice. If not so. they faculty provides notes which need guy 55by the students. College is quite boring as the lectures stretch too long. practicals are fun and informative
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
Hostel fee is up to Rs.30000. There are a lot of apartments outside college where you can rent an apartment. Food is very average as it is made in bulk, I prefer hotels located outside the college, all have reasonable rates i.e 50 60 per meal. The quality of classroom and labs is good, libraries lack enough copies of the book and also the penalty for returning the book after due date i.e one week after issuing is very high i.e 20rs per day as compared to 2rs per day in other colleges. There is no dining hall, college canteen has a place to sit which is very less compared to the number of students. Also, college does not allow any birthday party or use of mobile phone in canteen premises too. College does not provide any wifi. There is a digital library with 8 to 10 pcs bu most of the sites are blocked.. so rather useless is all I can say.
Clubs & Associations :
There are no student society and club. The college enforces all the decision taken by the management of the students. No associations on campus. Festivals are only for namesake. Sports is not at all encouraging. Even the annual sports week is wrapped up in 2 to 3 days. Cultures are lame, and they happen to be on the same days of sports week. So if ur looking for a college where you can enjoy your bachelor's, st.johns is probably not the place you are looking for. Life in college is very busy. As the course is a pharmacy, a sense of responsibility towards society is developed over a period of time.
