SC/ST stipend
The SC/ST students receive stipend from the State Government. The college forwards the official forms duly filled up by the SC/ST students for their academic stipends to the State Government. The Government send us the data and the allocated stipend from time to time. The college is aware of fact that some of these meritorious and hardworking students come from economically backward families. It is our duty to provide them with equality education, concession of fees and various stipends.
Students' Concession
A large number of students who take admission in Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College are from the economically backward section of our society. These students seek financial aid. Our college provides financial aid to them in the following two ways :
1) Student fees concession (from our College Fund)
2) Stipend to SC/ST students (It is provided from the State Government Treasury)
The college provides fees concession to the deserving, talented and economically backward students, from the College Students' Aid Fund. The concerned students must apply to the college for fees concession. The application must have the recommendations of the local MLA or Councillor. Their applications are then screened by the college authority, in consultation with the Students' Union.
Students' AID Fund
Student financial support is one of the major criteria which facilitate the teaching-learning process of the college. We have been trying to stand by the side of the SC/ST students and the students from economically backward classes by way of assistance – both financial and academic. The role of the Students' Union in identifying these poor students is appreciable. Students who are economically and socially handicapped are provided with the financial support from "Students' Aid Fund" of the College and Government stipend for SC/ST/OBC students. The college forwards the official forms duly filled up by the SC/ST/OBC students for their academic stipends to the State Government. The Government sends us the data and the allocated stipend from time to time . For the last few years it is noticed that with the expansion of the college, the number of students availing financial assistance in the form of free studentships and Government stipend for SC/ST/OBC categories has also increased.
