Placements & Internships :
Unfortunately, we just have an average placement cell which is not very active. There have been no alumni meet, but the college administration is striving hard towards it. The main problem is funds.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
The eligibility criteria are to pass class 12 with science and biology. There are no admission tests conducted, but the basis of admission is the combined marks of physics, chemistry, and biology. A rank sheet is published displaying the % marks of students. A particular date is decided on when students can take admission. Admission is done on the rank basis only. The typical cutoff marks are 75%.
Fees & Scholarships :
Since Microbiology is a self-financed subject, we have to finance our course, which is not much, Rs 20,000(INR) for the first year, about Rs 10,000(INR) P.A. for the second year and Rs 9000(INR) for the third year. Additionally, we have to pay 110/-(INR) per month for college development. In other departments which are government financed, the fees are lesser. Any student can give government scholarship program exams and benefit from the same according to the terms and conditions.
Academics & Faculty :
I have to say that the teachers of the microbiology department are doing a commendable job! The routine is a bit hectic and gets busier by the year, but the course is complicated and requires keen attention of the teachers which is very well provided at our college. Expert teachers come to the college to teach certain subjects to the students throughout the year. Class timings are typically 11:00 am-5:00 pm. Of course, projectors and whiteboards are used only. The overall academic experience is good.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
There aren't any hostels inside the college but ample PGs are available around the college. The food is healthy and a meal would cost Rs 50-70(INR). The quality of classrooms has greatly improved since the renovation of the college, even otherwise, it was satisfactory. The labs are A-class with full equipment. The library is a delight and all books concerning the course are available.
Clubs & Associations :
Unfortunately, there's only the student union which is active. There are a few NCC display days. We have an annual social day. Other than that, we have a wonderful college Fresher's program.
