The Railway Protection Force Sub-Inspector (RPF SI) Exam is conducted by the Ministry of Railways to select eligible male and female candidates as sub-inspectors of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) in the various zones of the Indian Railways. The selection for the post of Sub-Inspector will commence with a Computer Based Test and Fitness test. Candidates must satisfy all the criteria to appear for the RPF SI exam.

What is the RPF SI Exam?

The RPF SI Exam is conducted as part of the RPF SI Recruitment process to select sub-inspectors for the Indian Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Special Protection Force (RPSF) in various zones of the Indian Railways. RPF SI 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring for the RPF SI exam must check the eligibility criteria before registering for the exam. These include educational qualification, age limit, physical fitness and many more. These are some eligibility criteria mentioned below which are set by the exam officials for the candidates who are willing to apply for the RPF SI exam.

Nationality

A candidate must be an Indian citizen to be eligible for the RPF SI exam.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or its equivalent.

Age Limit

The minimum age and maximum age for the RPF SI Exam is between 20 and 25 years respectively. Relaxations between 2 to 10 years are given for reserved categories.

Relaxations in Age limit

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories are given relaxation in their upper age limit. Candidates can check the table given below for the details

Note: For availing the reservation in RPF SI selection process, the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Other Backward Caste-NCL candidates must provide the relevant documents and caste certificate from the concerned Government authorities, which supports their reservation claim.

RPF SI 2023 Application Process

Before filling out the RPF SI application form, candidates must ensure that they meet all the eligibility criteria given below. For registration, candidates can visit the official website and complete the application form process. Candidates must complete the application process for RPF SI 2023 Exam in online mode only. No offline applications will be accepted.

Visiting the website

  • Candidates need to visit the official website of the Indian Railways to complete the registration process. On the homepage of the website, click on "New Registration" link.
  • Read all the information and instructions given and click the checkbox. Candidates should also select the Zonal group to which they are applying for.

Primary Registration

  • Candidates need to enter all the personal details such as name, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name, education board, Aadhaar number, State/UT, category, 10th standard roll number, year of passing 10th standard, phone number and valid email ID. Ensure all the information provided is correct and then submit it for registration.

Verification of mobile number and email ID

  • An OTP will be sent to the candidate's registered email ID and mobile number. Enter both the OTPs and verify. Candidates will be provided with a unique registration number. Click on the Candidate Login using the registration number and proceed to fill the application form.

Filling the application form

  • Fill in the basic details in the form including detailed educational qualification, reservation details, mother tongue, address for communication, etc.
  • Candidates should also choose the exam language from the drop-down section.

Payment

  • Candidates should fill in their bank details for the refund of application amount post the CBT exam.
  • Once the candidates have filled out the application form, they can proceed with the payment of RPF SI application form fee.
  • Candidates can make the payment through any of these online modes- Net banking/Credit Card/Debit Card
  • Apart from the online mode, candidates can also pay the application fee through the offline SBI Challan.

Uploading Documents

  • Upload a photograph in JPG format with the dimensions 35mm X 45mm, and the size of the document must be between 15 kb-40 kb. Date of the photograph and name of the candidate should be printed on it.
  • Candidates of SC/ST categories need to upload a JPG or JPEG file of their certificates to avail the free travel pass from the Indian Railways
  • Confirm the declaration to complete the application process. Download the completed application form and take a printout for future reference.

Modification of RPF SI 2023 Application Form

In case the candidates need to make any changes after submitting the application form, they can do it by paying INR 250. Correction of data/details other than the state and mobile number/email can be edited/modified. Candidates must note that the editing of details can be done only twice. The process to modify the RPF SI application form is given below.

  • Candidates need to go to the "Online application" link and click on Modify application link
  • Log in using your RPF SI registration number and password
  • Pay the modification fee of INR 250
  • After making the payment, candidates can rectify the mistakes in the form by editing/modifying it. Once the form is modified, submit the application.

NOTE: Candidates must pay INR 250 if any changes need to be made in the application after initial submission.

RPF SI 2023 Admit Card

The RPF SI 2023 Admit Card will be made available online, a few days prior to the scheduled exam date. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website. It must be carried to the exam centre without fail, or else the candidate will not be permitted to enter the exam centre. For each exam, i.e. Computer Based Test, Physical Eligibility Test, Physical Measurement Test and Document verification, a separate admit card will be issued.

How to download the RPF SI 2023 Admit Card?

The steps to download the RPF SI 2023 admit card are:

  • Visit the official website of the conducting authority
  • On the homepage of the website, check for the admit card notification. Click on it and login to your account using the details obtained at the time of application form registration.
  • Click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ button.
  • Preview the details before downloading the RPF SI admit card.
  • Take a printout of the same.

Note: Candidates must note that the hard copy of the RPF SI 2023 admit card will not be sent to the candidate's address via post/courier.

Candidates appearing for the RPF SI 2023 exam must have a clear idea about the exam pattern of the paper in terms of types of question, marking scheme, exam duration, qualifying marks etc. The RPF SI 2023 exam will be conducted in 3 stages- A Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and finally, Document Verification.

RPF SI 2023 Merit List

The Ministry of Railways will publish the RPF SI Merit List online group-wise. The merit list will be available in the form of s PDF on the official website. After the merit list is declared, candidates who qualify will be called for a medical fitness and document verification test after which they will be appointed as RPF SIs in any of the railway zones.

RPF SI 2023 Salary

Selected candidates are eligible for Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission. Starting salary amounts to INR 35,400. Additionally, Travel Allowance (TA), Dearness Allowance (DA), etc are also provided.
