Delhi Air Pollution Results in Online Classes for Students Up to Class 5

Delhi Air Pollution: Toxic smog has covered the Nation's capital for a week. Considering the rising air pollution levels, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, has stated that the Government and Private primary schools will remain closed for the next 2 days. On the other hand, children from class 6 and more are asked to wear masks and attend the classes. 

Following the statement by Kejriwal, the Directorate of Education has also released an official notice regarding the same and asked school authorities to conduct online classes for the next 2 days. Also, the Directorate has asked the school authorities to inform the parents about the issue.

As per the latest updates, Delhi continues to experience the worst air quality according to the Air Quality Index (AQI). On Tuesday, Oct 31, Punjab and Haryana reported a total of 1,556 farm fires, and this is yet to affect the Capital city due to the favourable wind directions at the movement.

It is a matter of concern that the rising pollution levels are dangerous even for healthy adults. Poor quality air can lead to health issues like asthma, bronchitis, anaemia, acute respiratory infections, and more. As per the shocking report released by the World Health Organization (WHO), pregnant women exposed to toxic air might deliver premature babies, and they might also provide underweight babies.

People of Delhi are already experiencing severe coughs, allergies, and respiratory ailments. Despite all the efforts made to fight against air pollution, experts believe that the air pollution levels will further deteriorate in the coming days.
