DU Admissions 2022 Ongoing: Academic Bank of Credit Registration Mandatory for DU Applicants
Delhi University has directed all the students enrolling in the varsity from this year onwards to mandatorily register in the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) portal.
DU Admissions 2022: Delhi University is currently ongoing admissions. The University has now directed all the students enrolling in the varsity from this year onwards to mandatorily register in the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) portal. The ABC is a virtual storehouse for records of academic credits secured by a student. Per the University officials, the ABC will carry all the information on credits earned by individual students who qualify for DU admissions in 2022.

All About DU Admissions 2022
The dean of Academic Activities and Projects, Professor K Ratnabali, stated that "this provides credit mobility and will help a student to redeem credit that he or she has earned in different universities to get a certificate diploma and degree accordingly. Additionally, he said, "Every student who is going to enroll from academic session 2022-23 has to register into the Academic Bank of Credit portal mandatorily. Once you create an account in the academic portal, it is like having a bank account. Whenever you pass a course, four credits will be deposited into your credit account". Moreover, during the webinar, the university officials also explained the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) that the varsity has adopted from this year onwards. Per the officials, UGCF is to bring about a systemic change in the higher education system in the University. Moreover, it aligns with the National Education Policy 2020 for DU admissions 2022.

While making the UGCF, the authorities have incorporated several features of NEP. The included features are fundamental and relevant for higher education at the University. Two of the NEP features that the UGCF is inclusive of are -- the multidisciplinary approach and the multiple entries and exit scheme (MEES). Significantly, Under the MEES, the students have the choice to exit at the end of an academic year with a degree. As stated by the officials, "the draft offers a total of 176 credits. The students need to earn a minimum of 50 percent credits in a discipline to get a four-year undergraduate degree with a major in that discipline."
