Indian School Talent Search Exam (ISTSE) is an international level talent search examination for Indian School students. ISTSE exam is a scientifically designed, skill-based assessment test to get the strengths and weaknesses of individual students across India. ISTSE exam winners are recognized and awarded various ISTSE awards, prizes, and benefits categorized into two categories.

ISTSE Online Exam Awards
The ISTSE exams are conducted under two modes, online exams for direct students and paper-based exams for students participating through schools. Here is the breakdown of factors for the awards and recognition for the students who gave online exams.

ISTSE 2024 Online Exam Recognition & Medals
Each participating student will get a certificate and a medal.
The student who scores,
- 95% or above will get a scholar certificate along with a gold medal.
- 90% to 94.99% will get an outstanding performance certificate along with a silver medal.
- 80% to 89.99% will get a distinguished performance certificate along with a bronze medal.
- 60% to 74.99% will get a participation certificate.
- Below 60% will get a digital participation certificate.
ISTSE Online Exam Scholarship
The top 3 students from each class will be awarded cash prizes. If two or more students get the same rank, an interview will be conducted to decide the scholarship.
Below are the international ranks and scholarships offered.
- International rank 1 - scholarship of INR 1500 per month for 12 months+topper shield
- International rank 2 - scholarship of INR 1000 per month for 12 months+first runner-up shield
- International rank 3 - scholarship of INR 500 per month for 12 months+second runner-up shield
Note: Minimum of 60% marks in the ISTSE online examination is required to get a scholarship. If none of the students scores 60%, the scholarship will not be awarded to any student.
ISTSE Online Exam Ranking Criteria 2024
If two or more students score the same number of marks, ranks will be determined based on certain criteria (weightage will be given from top to bottom).
Factors that determine the ranks are as follows.
- Rule 1: The student who will get more marks in the scholars’ section will get a higher rank.
- Rule 2: The student who will get more marks in maths will get a higher rank.
- Rule 3: The student who will get more marks in science will get a higher rank.
- Rule 4: Students who will get more marks in mental & logical ability will get a higher rank.
- Rule 5: Students who will get more marks in English will get a higher rank.
- Rule 6: Time taken by a student in completing the exam paper. The student who has taken less time will get a higher rank.
- Rule 7: If two students got the same marks, the younger student would be given preference.
If two or more students score the same marks under the above criteria, they will be awarded the same rank.
ISTSE 2024 Paper-based Exam Awards
The breakdown of factors for the awards and recognition for the students who gave paper-based exams differs from online ones.

ISTSE Paper-Based Certificates Criteria
Here are the criteria under which students will be awarded certificates and awards.
The student who scores,

ISTSE Paper Based Exam Recognition & Medals
For paper-based exams, school-wise and class-level awards and recognition may vary.
Below are the awards, medals, and recognition offered.
Rule 1: If in a school, in a particular class, the number of students participating is 25 or more.
- The first topper from that particular class will get a cash prize of INR 1500+gold medal.
- The second topper from that particular class will get a cash prize of INR 1000+silver medal.
- The third topper from that particular class will get a cash prize of INR 500+bronze medal.
Rule 2: If in a school, in a particular class, the number of students participating is between 15 and 24.
- The first topper from that particular class will get a gold medal (no cash prize)
- The second topper from that particular class will get a silver medal (no cash prize)
- The third topper from that particular class will get a bronze medal (no cash prize)
Rule 3: If in a school, in a particular class, the number of students participating is between 5 and 9.
- The first topper from that particular class will get a gold medal (no cash prize)
(no medals will be given to the second and third topper)
ISTSE Paper-Based School Level Awards and Scholarship
Given below are the school-level awards and scholarships.
Rule 1: If in a school, the total number of students participating, including all the classes, is 500 or more
- The first school topper (combining all the classes) will get an INR 1500 for 12 months and a school topper shield.
- The second school topper (combining all the classes) will get a scholarship of INR 1000 for 12 months, and the first runners up a shield.
- The third school topper (combining all the classes) will get a scholarship of INR 500 for 12 months and a second runner-up shield.
Rule 2: If in a school, the total number of students participating, including all the classes, is between 325 & 499
- The first school topper (combining all the classes) will get a scholarship of INR 1500 for 12 months and a school topper shield.
(No scholarship will be given to the second and third topper.)
ISTSE Paper Based Exam Selection of School Topper
Given below are the criteria for the selection of a school topper.
- Rule 1: Should have a minimum of 60% marks in the ISTSE Examination.
- Rule 2: Must be a class topper for the current ISTSE Exam.
- Rule 3: Must have the highest percentile in the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.
- Rule 4: Must have the highest percentile in the scholars’ section of the current ISTSE exam among class toppers.
- Rule 5: Must have the highest percentile in the mathematics section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.
- Rule 6: Must have the highest percentile in the science section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.
- Rule 7: Must have the highest percentile in the mental & logical ability section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.
- Rule 8: Must have the highest percentile in the English section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.
In a tie based on the above criteria, the school recommendation (based on academic records) will be required.
ISTSE 2024 International Scholarship
International Topper of each class will get a scholarship of INR 1800 per month for 12 months and International Topper Shield.
Each winner will be entitled to one award only. The winner will be entitled to the higher level award only. If two or more students get the same rank, an interview will be conducted to decide the award.
