National Economics Olympiad
Shri Ram College of Commerce is a premier institution that offers undergraduate courses in Commerce and Economics. The Economics Society of SRCC aims to foster social and intellectual activities among students.
The National Economics Olympiad is an initiative started by SRCC and Vedantu to enhance young minds' economic skills concerning real-life situations. Besides, it enhances students of classes 11th & 12th to harness the true potential of the discipline of Economics. Economics is a vast subject with different theories and concepts. The National Economics Olympiad is the third edition of the most significant economic Olympiad for school students to look beyond their curriculum and truly "Discover The Economist" in themselves.
The main aim of the NEO Exam is to motivate the students to test their knowledge and broaden their understanding of economics in terms of real-time applications. All the school students of classes XI-XII from India and South East Asia can participate in NEO. The top three participants from each class are awarded cumulative scholarships worth INR 65,000, and all the participants will be awarded a certificate of participation.

The National Economics Olympiad (NEO) is a school-level economics olympiad for classes XI and XII nationwide.

National Economics Olympiad Levels
The National Economics Olympiad is a two-level exam, i.e., preliminary and final rounds. Both the competition is conducted online as multiple-choice questions.
The details of both rounds are mentioned below.
Preliminary Round
The NEO preliminary exam combines the different sections, including Economics, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, and Case Studies, in the form of multiple-choice questions, i.e., quiz.
Final Round
The theme of the final exam round will be announced only at the time of the exam. There is a different set of questions for the participants. The NEO Exam involves questions based on economics subject-knowledge and presence of mind in applying case study problems.
National Economics Olympiad Registration
NEO registration is expected to begin in August 2024. The NEO registration fee is INR 200, but students can now register for INR 180 as part of an early-bird discount to encourage more participation. The entry fee of INR 180 is valid only for students registering on or before the last date of registration.

National Economics Olympiad Syllabus
There are no specific topics to be covered for National Economics Olympiad. The exam will have four sections, "Practical Economics, Logical Reasoning, Case Studies, and Data Interpretation," with ten questions for each section. Each question carries one mark, and there will be no negative marks in the preliminary round.
Both the rounds will be conducted online, and all candidates should make timely arrangements for a laptop/desktop suitable for attending the examination. After the test begins, the candidate can only leave the page at the termination of the given time. Any attempts to open a different window/tab will lead to the cancellation of the respective candidate's responses.
The National Economics Olympiad consists of four sections, as follows:
- Application of economic concepts
- Logical reasoning
- Case study/problem solving
- Data interpretation
Note: All sections shall carry equal weightage.
National Economics Olympiad Sample Papers
NEO sample papers are a great way to get a glimpse of the Economics Olympiad. Besides, it also helps students get to know about the exam pattern and important topics to be covered while preparing for the National Economics Olympiad.
SRCC has released a sample question booklet comprising 150+ new questions and NEO past question papers. The students can access it after enrolling themselves in National Economics Olympiad.
National Economics Olympiad Awards
SRCC NEO, the National Economics Olympiad, had more than 6000 participants from across 1200 schools and 400 cities, across ten countries only last year.
Shri Ram College of Commerce rewards all participants with a certificate of participation, and they offer total cumulative cash prizes worth INR 65,000. Besides cash prizes, SRCC awards a certificate of participation to all the students enrolled for NEO 2024.
