The National Talent Search Examination is a scholarship examination that was introduced as the National Science Talent Search Scheme in 1963. The NTSE Gujarat examination is conducted on two levels. Stage 1 is a state-level exam conducted by the Gujarat State Examination Board (GSEB), stage 2 is a national-level exam conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The NMMS Gujarat registration for the stage 1 examination can be carried through school coordinators or as an individual's participants.

NTSE Gujarat Important Dates
NCERT gives a total of 2,000 students scholarships on a merit basis under the NTSE program. Candidates who qualify for stage 1 will be eligible for the final stage of the examination.

NTSE Gujarat Eligibility Criteria
NTSE eligibility criteria for each stage differ. Given below are the eligibility criteria for stage 1 and stage 2.
NTSE Gujarat Eligibility Criteria (Stage 1)
- Candidates who must be pursuing class 10 in the current academic year in any recognized board, government school, government-aided school, private school, local body school, or any other recognized school in the state of Gujarat are eligible to apply.
- Students must secure a minimum of 55% marks in class 9 to be eligible for the exam.
- Those who have appeared for class 10 board examinations in 2023 are not eligible.
- Candidates must have studied in government or private schools in Gujarat.
- Students studying in Open Learning Distance (Distance learning) on Apr 1, 2023, under 18 years of age are also eligible, provided their age is not above 18 years.
- Indian students studying abroad in the 10th standard are eligible to apply directly for the second phase of the examination.
- NMMS scholarship holders are also eligible.
- There is no income limit for the exam as decided by NCERT New Delhi.
NTSE NCERT Criteria (Stage 2)
- Candidates must be Indian nationals.
- Candidates must be studying in class 10 in a recognized private or government school in India.
- Unemployed candidates below the age of 18, studying in class 10 from distance learning are also eligible to apply.
NTSE Gujarat Exam Pattern
NTSE stage 1 exam is divided into two parts, MAT and SAT. MAT, an Intellectual Aptitude Test, conducted a minimum of 40 marks, and SAT is an Educational Aptitude Test conducted for 60 marks. The medium of examination will be English and Gujarati, but the question paper of the medium can be of the student's choice.
The division of marks includes,
- Mathematics - 20 Marks
- Science - 20 Marks
- Social Science - 20 Marks
Steps to Fill NTSE Gujarat Application Form
Given below are steps to fill out the NTSE Gujarat application form.
- Visit the official website of GSEB, i.e., State Examination Board-Gandhinagar Home Page.
- Select the option "Apply Online" and choose the application for "NTSE."
- Enter the required credential in the login window.
- Upload the recent photograph in .jpg format (the picture should not exceed 20kb).
- Click on 'Confirm Application.'
- Select the payment method for NTSE Gujarat 2023.
- Print application card/challan from a dialogue box titled "Print Application Form/Challan".
