- A Ph.D can also be done Panjab University by qualifying any NET entrance exams.
- A stipend of around Rs.30,000 is provided after cracking NET as a Ph.D scholar or as a lecturer in PU or PU affiliated colleges.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- We have around 20 hostels at PU, Chandigarh (10 for boys 10 for girls). The food quality at the mess is good.
- We have free wifi in PU campus to each of its students.
- The best things are the cushion leather chairs in classrooms.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The admission criteria are UG-CET for undergraduate courses such as BSc. biotechnology and PG-CET, a test to be given that is a Combined Entrance Test for Post Graduate for admission in MSc. biotechnology.
- The admissions are based on an objective test and your previous college marks. Little weightage is there in the case of PG admissions and 12th class marks are significant too for UG course.
Academics and Faculty
- We have the best teachers with publications. We have presentation classes and board classes.
- The class timings at PU, Chandigarh is from 9am to 5pm with a lunch break.
Fees and Scholarships
- For BSc, the fee is around Rs.18,000+ per annum and for MSc, it is around Rs.32,000+ per annum at PU.
Clubs and Associations
- Different parties such as PUSU, SOI, INSO, etc. are there organising various trips, DJ nights, etc. individually.
- Educational bookshops are organised in departments.
- Diwali and other festivals are celebrated with full joy along with teachers.
