In Electronics and marketing fields, students are recruited by companies like Texas Instruments, HP, Dell, Amazon, Flipkart, McKinsey and Myntra. Average salary package for Computer Science students is around INR 6 - 7 lakhs per annum while for other branches, it is around INR 4 - 6 lakhs per annum. 95 % of the students get placed every year. Alumni network is pretty impressive in VIT. Every year VIT hosts its alumni and gives away distinguished alumni award to one alumnus who is doing a great job in his/her field.
There are 16 hostels for Men and 5 hostels for Women. Hostels are very well maintained. VIT offers a variety of Hostel Rooms like 2 bed, 3 bed, 4 bed and 6 bed and A/C rooms are also available. Fees for hostel comes around 4000 bucks per month for a 3 bedded A/C room. Hostels are provided with Wi-Fi service which is not really fast but is useful for uploading assignments and stuff. PGs are also available outside the campus which are not preferred by many people due to the distance factor. Mess facility is mandatory and there are many options like North Indian (Special/Veg/Non-Veg) or South Indian (Special/Veg/Non-Veg). Food Quality is really good and the dining halls are really hygienic.
Classrooms are fitted with smart boards and are well-built. The library is a 3-story building which is fully modernized. Digital Library provided access to over 1 lakh books.
Laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and are well maintained.
Admission to VIT is based on an entrance exam VITEEE which is conducted in April every year. Over 2,00,000 students attempt the exam. The exam will have 120 questions in MCQ pattern. There are no specific cutoffs as it differs each year.
Class timings are not fixed for anyone. VIT has an innovative timetable to avoid crowding and shortage of classrooms. In the first semester, students are given with a pre-scheduled timetable and faculty with class timings. From the second semester, students will have an access to a system called FFCS (Fully Flexible Credits System) where students will have the liberty to choose what subjects they read, their class timings, faculty and venue. This method is hard to follow at first, but then it proves to be the best.
Quality of faculty is really good in VIT. The faculty here, are well experienced and have a strong hold on their subject. Most of the faculty are indulged in one or more active projects.
Overall experience in academics is very good. VIT has established the Quality Control Board which is headed by a group of people whose only job is to take feedbacks from students regarding their faculty, hostels or any other issues related to the quality of the college.
Students who take VITEE will recieve All India Ranks. They are categorized into 5 categories based on their ranks. Ranks below 8000 are categorized as category 1, ranks from 8,000 to 20,000 come under category 2 and so on.
For category 1, fees are around INR 3,40,000 which does not include the Hostel and mess charges and it increases by INR 1 lakh for each subsequent category
100% scholarships are provided for toppers of class 12 boards in their home state. Scholarships are also given based on ranks in VITEEE. 100% for rank 1, 75% for rank 2-50, 50% for ranks below 100 and 25% for ranks above 100.
Loans can be availed from any nationalized banks as the college is recognized and accredited. Loan advisors are available inside the campus.
There are over 100 clubs and chapters in VIT which help students in having hands-on experience in their fields of passion. International Chapters like Toastmasters International, TEDx, ASCE, IEEE are currently active in VIT. Riviera, the official cultural fest of VIT attracts over 50000 people every year. GraVITas is a technical fest which is conducted every year. Apart from these two festivals lots of intra-college festivals happen and they are much fun.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria is passing 12th with good marks atleast around 85%. Apply for VITEEE (which is entrance exam to get into college) and give the exam. It has maths, physics, chemistry, english and logical questions. Try to get good rank in the exam. The cutoff for cse is very high. But you can get a seat even with rank around 25k with 5th category.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : There are no eligibility criteria but you have to write an exam named VITEEE where your marks scored in the exam and the admission will be done as per the rank from 1 to 100000.
