MICAT 2024 Marking Scheme
The marking scheme of the MICAT 2024 examination is tabulated below. The marking scheme of each correct answer is +1 mark only for the questions under the subsections of Section C. However, this does not apply to the Psychometric and Descriptive (Section A and Section B).

MICAT Essay Topics Writing Tips
- Make sure you always write the essay in paragraphs, not points.
- If the essay requires factual information, only write the facts you are sure of and do not try to bluff about anonymous data.
- The essay paragraphs must be well constructed with a topic sentence, supporting sentences and a concluding sentence.
- For an argumentative essay, choose a side and express your thoughts and arguments clearly without any ambiguity.
- Avoid using jargon, slang and abbreviations.
- Include the acknowledgements when quoting.
- Be updated with current affairs to tackle topics with proper updates and arguments.
- Do not end the essay abruptly. Complete the essay in the given time window with concluding remarks.
- Avoid repetition of points. The statements of the essay must also be coherent and support the drive of the essay.
- Make a draft and structure the essay before beginning to write the essay.
