MICAT exam pattern 2023 consists of 6 sections having a total of 105 questions. MICAT is a Computer Based Test (CBT). The question paper comprises both subjective and objective-type questions. MICAT 2023 is a national-level test and is conducted twice every year.

MICAT 2023 Marking Scheme
The marking scheme MICAT 2023 adheres to is as follows.
- The MICAT exam pattern 2023 specifies that there is no negative marking in the descriptive and psychometric sections of the exam.
- The other sections such as verbal ability, general awareness, quantitative ability and data interpretation and divergent and convergent thinking have a negative marking of 0.25 Marks i.e. 1/4 th of the allotted mark is deducted.
MICAT Exam Pattern 2023
The MICAT exam pattern 2023 consists mainly of 3 sections, each of which tests candidates on various topics. More details of the MICAT Exam Pattern has been listed in the section below.
Section A - Psychometry Test
Psychometry Test is qualifying in nature, those who qualify for Section A, and their performance on CAT, XAT, and GMAT will be considered. There is no right/wrong answer but the test evaluates the candidate's personality, thinking ability, strengths, and weaknesses. The questions will be based on the life and career goals, situations, etc.
Note: If the candidate has appeared for more than one exam (CAT, XAT, GMAT) the better of the two scores will be considered.
Section B - Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
The syllabus for MICAT for Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, and Divergent and Convergent Thinking topics will be generic and as per other management exams. Those who qualify based on their performance in CAT 2023, XAT, GMAT (2018 onwards), will be assessed on the basis of Section B.
Section C - Descriptive Test
The test comprises topics that the candidate has to present his/her views on. The candidate has to write an essay of about 250 words. Section C will be assessed for those candidates who qualify on the basis of performance in Section B. Candidates will need to qualify for the minimum cutoff (normalized) specified.
Candidates who will qualify for the above sections will only be shortlisted for GE & PI. Shortlisted candidates will have their GE & PI at various centres of MICA namely Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata.
