NMMS merit list 2024 is released by the State Council of Educational Research and Training, i.e., SCERT. Class 8th students who have appeared for the NMMS scholarship test can access the NMME merit list on their respective SCERT’s official website.
The eligibility criteria and exam pattern is the same for all states. In addition, the NMMS qualifying marks are also the same for all the states, i.e., 40% marks for general category students. The qualifying percentage for reserved category students (SC/ST) is 32%.

How to Download NMMS Merit List 2024?
The NMMS merit list will be released by the respective SCERTs on their official website. However, last year the NMMS merit list 2023 was released on the mobile application for some states. Follow the steps mentioned below to download the merit list released on the official website.
- Step 1: Firstly, visit the official website of the respective SCERT.
- Step 2: Then, click on the latest link available for the NMMS.
- Step 3: After clicking, the login portal will appear on the screen.
- Step 4: Enter your credentials to log in.
- Step 5: Finally, view and download the NMMS merit list.

NMMS Merit List 2024: Qualifying Marks
The NMMS question paper is divided into two sections - Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT). In order to qualify for the scholarship test, students must score 40% marks in each section. The following table contains a detailed description of NMMS qualifying marks.

NMMS Eligibility Criteria
There are several criteria that students must satisfy in order to be eligible to appear for the scholarship test. The NMMS eligibility criteria are discussed below:
- The applicants must be Indian citizens.
- The students must be enrolled in class 8th and have a minimum 55% aggregate marks in class 7th.
- The candidate's parent’s annual income should be less than INR 3.50 Lakhs per annum.
- Students studying in state government-funded residential schools (with facilities like boarding, lodging, and education) are ineligible to apply for NMMS.
- Students from private schools or Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Sainik Schools are also ineligible and cannot apply for the scholarship programme.

NMMS Scholarship Amount
The NMMS-qualified students receive INR 12,000 per annum (INR 1,000 per month) for four years, i.e., from class 9th to 12th. The NMMS scholarship programme aims to promote literacy among students belonging to economically weaker sections of the society.
Students must renew their NMMS scholarship every year. To renew the NMMS scholarship, students must enter their application number and date of birth in the “Apply for Renewal” option on the login portal.
