UEM Jaipur organized the Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti Memorial UEM Cricket League 2026 and a Speech Society programme, encouraging sportsmanship, leadership, and public speaking among students.
The University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, recently witnessed a vibrant blend of sportsmanship and intellectual engagement through two dynamic campus initiatives — the Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti Memorial Tournament: UEM Cricket League (UCL) 2026 and an advanced training programme conducted by the Speech Society (TSS).
UEM Cricket League 2026: Honouring Legacy Through Sport
The UEM Cricket League (UCL) 2026, organized in memory of Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, brought together students, faculty members, and staff for three days of energetic cricket and camaraderie from 28 February to 02 March 2026 at the UEM Jaipur Cricket Ground.
The tournament created an electrifying atmosphere on campus as teams competed with enthusiasm and determination. Participants and spectators alike celebrated the spirit of cricket, teamwork, and healthy competition.
Winners of the tournament were honored with trophies, medals, and certificates, recognizing their outstanding performances. The event not only showcased sporting talent but also strengthened the sense of unity within the UEM community.

Speech Society Programme: Building Future Communicators
Alongside the sporting event, the Speech Society (TSS) of UEM Jaipur conducted an intensive programme on 26 February 2026 aimed at enhancing students’ communication and leadership abilities.
The programme focused on advanced rhetorical techniques, impromptu speaking, and structured quiz activities, helping graduate students develop confidence and clarity in public speaking. More than 150 participants actively engaged in the sessions, creating a lively and intellectually stimulating environment.
The initiative concluded with a capstone presentation, where participants demonstrated their ability to analyze complex ideas and deliver persuasive 5–7 minute speeches without scripted assistance. This exercise allowed students to showcase their growing proficiency in articulation, critical thinking, and leadership.
Preparing Students for Future Leadership
These initiatives reflect UEM Jaipur’s commitment to developing well-rounded students who excel not only academically but also in communication, leadership, and extracurricular engagement. The Speech Society programme, in particular, emphasized that effective communication goes beyond simply speaking—it builds confidence, influence, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to society.
Programme Coordinators
The programme was coordinated by faculty members Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Yadav and Prof. (Dr.) Snehlata Dhaka, along with student coordinators Souvik Chowdhury, Somnath Das, Sunil Garhwal, and Soumili Ghosh.
Through initiatives like the UCL 2026 cricket tournament and the Speech Society training programme, UEM Jaipur continues to nurture both physical vitality and intellectual leadership, preparing students to become confident professionals and responsible global citizens.
