What is BODMAS Rule
To understand the BOADMAS rule, first learn about the abbreviation for BODMA, which is Bracket, Of, Division, Multiplication, Addition, and Subtraction. The mathematical expression order of the operation can be explained with the help of BODMAS. PEDMAS, which stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition, and Subtraction, is another name for the BODMAS that is used in some areas.
Example Question Using BODMAS Rule:
Question 1: (4+5)-3+2
Solution: (9)-3+2
Now, an addition has to be solved:
(9)-5 = 4
When is BODMAS Useful
When there are multiple operations in a mathematical expression, BODMAS rule is used. When using the BODMAS method, certain rules must be followed in a certain order. This provides an appropriate structure for coming up with a unique response to each mathematical expression.
Conditions to follow:
Open any bracket, then add or subtract the terms from them.
a + (b + c) = a + b + c, a + (b - c) = a + b - c.
If there is a negative sign, simply open the bracket and multiply the negative sign by each term inside the bracket.
a - (b + c) a - b - c
Multiply any term that is just outside the bracket by each term that is inside the bracket.
ab + ac = a(b + c)
