Chapter 1 | Chemical Reactions and Equations: This chapter includes passages on various chemical reactions and the equations that take place in the process of reaction. Reactions can only be defined through quantities and identities involved which is expressed in the equation. |
Chapter 2 | Acids, Bases, and Salts: In this chapter, the etymology of acids, bases, and salts will be explained, along with other concepts associated with it. |
Chapter 3 | Metals and Non-Metals: This chapter explains the difference between metals and nonmetals and their associations with electricity and so forth. |
Chapter 4 | Carbon and Its Compounds: This chapter is the most interesting chapter in this course as it teaches the compounds of carbon and the various features that it covers. The carbon compounds are the most common compounds to study in chemistry and it is this that makes the students develop a knack for this chapter. |
Chapter 5 | Periodic Classification of Elements: This chapter interprets the different periodic classification and their elements. |
Chapter 6 | Life Processes: It covers the six stages of life processes in humans and plants namely: Nutrition, metabolism in plants, respiration, transportation, reproduction, metabolism in humans, and various concepts coming under the purview of this chapter. |
Chapter 7 | Control and Coordination: Concepts like relaxing action, walking, synapses between two neurons, and so forth are discussed in this chapter. |
Chapter 8 | How Do Organisms Reproduce?: There are two ways for reproduction for any organism namely sexual and asexual. These concepts will be discussed in this chapter. |
Chapter 9 | Heredity and Evolution: The genome sequences of organisms are described in this chapter. |
Chapter 10 | Light reflection and refraction: Different types of mirrors such as concave and convex and how they function in the presence of light and the process involved in it are described in this chapter. |
Chapter 11 | Human eye and the colorful world: How the human eye functions is explicitly explained in this chapter and in addition it defines the parts of the human eyes that enable vision such as the iris, ciliary muscles, etc. |
Chapter 12 | Electricity: This chapter will provide an epistemological explanation of electricity and how electricity is produced. |
Chapter 13 | Magnetic effect of electric current: This chapter stresses the electromagnetic effect and other concepts or sub-topics associated with it. |
Chapter 14 | Sources of Energy: The various sources of energy like geothermal, renewable, nuclear, and so forth are discussed in this chapter. |
Chapter 15 | Our Environment: This chapter is designed to instill an idea of the environmental degradation of the world and the various measures to take to counter environmental change. |

CBSE Class 10th Science 2024 Chapterwise Marks Distribution
