IIM Calcutta Alumni

Ramachandra Guha is an Indian historian, writer, and intellectual whose research interests include social, political, contemporary, environmental, cricket history, and economics. Several other publications, including The Telegraph, the Hindustan Times, and the Hindi daily Amar Ujala, publish his columns. In addition to studying the Chipuco movement at the Indian Institute of Management, he earned a Ph.D. in the history of forestry in Uttarakhand.

Sunil Duggal is an Indian businessman and business executive. He is the former CEO of Dabur, India's largest Ayurvedic drug manufacturer. Duggal holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Birla College of Technology and Science and a Master of Business Administration from Kolkata School of Management, India. Duggal holds an undergraduate degree in MBA from Indian IIM Calcutta.

3. Amish Tripathi

Amish Tripathi is an Indian writer. He is famous for the Shiva trilogy and Ram Chandra series of books. The Shiva trilogy is the best-selling series in the history of Indian publishing, followed by the Ram Chandra series, which is the second-selling series in the history of Indian publishing. He is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta.

4. Indra Nooyi

Born on October 28 1955, Indora Nui is an Indian Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pepsi. In recent years, she has been recognized as one of the world's 100 most powerful women. In 2014, she was ranked 13th on the Forbes list of the 100 Most Powerful Women in the World, and in 2015 she was ranked as the second most powerful woman on the Fortune list. Nooyi received a Post Graduate Programme Diploma from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta in 1976.

5. Ajit Balakrishnan

Ajit Balakrishnan is a corporate executive and administrator from India. He is the founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Rediff.com, a Mumbai-based internet corporation. For two five-year periods, he served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), which ended in March 2017.

6. Gopal Vittal

Mr Gopal Vittal graduated from IIM Calcutta's 25th batch. Bharti Airtel - India and South Asia has Gopal as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. In 1990, he joined Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), one of India's largest FMCG firms, finishing his education at Madras Christian College and completing his PGDM at IIM Calcutta.

7. Krishna Palepu

Krishna Palepu is an academic, author, consultant, and board member of several companies in the United States. At Harvard Business School, he is the Ross Graham Walker Professor of Business Administration. He is the President of Harvard University's Senior Adviser for Global Strategy.

8. Shyam Srinivasan

On September 23, 2010, Shyam Srinivasan became the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of The Federal Bank Ltd, a significant private commercial bank in India. He has worked in retail lending, wealth management, and SME banking for over 20 years with top global banks in India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

9. Amolak Rattan Kohli

Former governor of the Indian state of Mizoram, Amolak Rattan Kohli. From 2001 to 2006, he was governor of Mizoram. Kohli is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta's inaugural MBA class. To obtain admission to the elite business school, he had topped the all-India entrance exam. Kohli graduated from Kurukshetra University with a Master's degree in Chemistry.

10. M. Murty

P. M. Murty is a business executive from India. He was the previous Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Asian Paints, India's largest paint firm. Murty, who joined Asian Paints in 1971, departed as the company's head of decorative business in 2008. In acknowledgment of his accomplishments, Business Standard, a renowned Indian business newspaper, named him "CEO of the Year" for 2009-2010.
