LPU Grading System 2024: CGPA Evaluation & Passing Criteria

LPU Grading System 2024 follows the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) criteria. According to this, the candidate is given grades like O, A+, A, B+, B, C, D, E, F, and G based on points scored. Where O is the highest grade, while lowering down to a G grade.

For the CGPA evaluation process at Lovely Professional University, each grade is assigned a number, and each course has a certain number of credits. For each course, course credits are multiplied by grade points. Then, the products are added together and divided by the total number of credits taken. 

What is the LPU Grading System 2024?

LPU follows the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) as its LPU grading system 2024. To calculate CGPA out of 10, students may divide their percentage by 9.5, and the result would be their CGPA.

However, students can calculate CGPA by dividing their total score of grade points for all subjects throughout their semesters by the total number of credit hours attended. Here’s how students’ grades are assigned at LPU:

Passing Criteria at LPU

The following requirements must be met for the student to pass the course:

• For an entirely theoretical course, you must receive a final grade of 40% overall, 30% in the end-term examination, and 30% in CA.
• Theory and Practical Course: Earn 30% in each component (end-term examination and end-term practical/project) individually and 40% overall (CA and end-term examination combined).
• Practical only Course: 
• Score 40% after combining end-term practical/project with CA. 
• Score 30% on the end-term practical/project.
• Earn 40% in the end-term practical/project for the project, dissertation, or term paper-based courses.

Details Mentioned on the LPU Grade Card

LPU results are available in online mode only. The scorecard is valid for one session. Scorecards cannot be sent to candidates by post at their registered addresses.

LPU Results Revaluation 2024

After every Mid Term Test (MTT) and End Term Examination (ETE), students can review their assessed answer booklets for theory papers. Any student may request a re-evaluation of their subject if they are unhappy with the evaluation as per the LPU grading system 2024. 

Immediately after the result declaration, the university examination division publishes an online notification through the University Management System (UMS) e-connect portal, informing students about the procedure and deadlines to apply for re-evaluation. 

Within 15 days of Lovely Professional University's announcement of the results, students must submit an online request for revaluation and pay the applicable fees per subject. 

If the difference between the final scores and the original scores is less than 10% of the original score, then the student's initial grades are deemed final. 

The results acquired following LPU result revaluation are considered final if the change in marks is greater than 10%.

LPU Improvement Exams

As per the LPU grading system 2024, if a student feels they received inadequate grades or failed a particular exam, they may retake improvement exams. Students at LPU Jalandhar can retake a failed subject up to five times to improve their grades.
