Ms. Deepa Malik

Profession: Indian Athlete

Ms. Deepa is an Indian athlete who started her career at the age of 30. She is the first Indian woman to win a medal in paralympic games and the only Indian woman to win medals in 3 consecutive Asian Para Games in 2010, 2014 and 2018. She won a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in shot put.

She is currently the world's number one in the F-53 category. She has won gold in the F-53/54 Javelin event at the para athletic Grand Prix held in Dubai in 2018. She was honoured with the Arjuna award in 2012. She has also conferred the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2017. She then was elected as the President of the Paralympic Committee of India in 2020.

Mr. Ananad Kumar

Profession: Educationist and Mathematician

Mr. Anand is an Indian Mathematician and an educationist and the owner of the popular course called Super 30 programme, started in 2002 at Patna, Bihar for coaching the underprivileged students for JEE – Advanced. When 422 out of 510 students were able to clear the IITs in 2018, the Discovery Channel showcased the same ass documentary. Kumar has spoken at MIT and Harvard about his programs for the underprivileged students of Indian society.

Super 30 was appreciated as “the best institute in the country” by the United States President Barack Obama's special envoy, Rashad Hussain. He has received many awards such as Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Shiksha Puraska, Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar Yuva Puraskar award etc in the year 2010.

Mr. Anil Kumble

Profession: Former Indian Cricket Captain

Mr. Anil Kumble is a former Indian cricket captain, coach and commentator who retired in November 2008. Anil has played test and one-day international cricket for his national team over an international career of 18 years. He is one of the best leg-spin bowlers in test cricket history and has taken 619 wickets in test cricket and is the fourth-highest wicket-taker of all time as of 2022. Kumble was selected as the cricketer of the year in Indian cricket in 1993 and one of the Wisden cricketers of the year three years later.

Kumble was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian honour in 2005. Kumble became the chairman of the International Cricket Council’s cricket committee in 2012

Ms. Manushi Chhillar

Profession: Indian Film Actor, Model, Miss World 2017

Ms. Manushi is an Indian actress and model, who was the winner of the Miss World 2017 pageant. She represented her state of Haryana at the Femina Miss India 2017 pageant and won it to become the sixth representative from India to be crowned Miss World. A bollywood debut in the movie ‘Prithviraj’ directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi will be her upcoming project.

As a model, Chhillar represented brands such as Bata, Fashion Big Bazaar, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Gio watches, Club Factory, Audi Q5 and Panasonic. She was the official ambassador for Malabar Gold and Diamonds, Adidas, and Pantene in India.

Parul University Alumni Association
