Admission to Top Private Law Colleges in India
CLAT is the common entrance exam required to gain admission into top law schools, but many private universities conduct separate examinations. Exams such as SLAT, AILET, CET, etc., have become mainstream alongside the ever-popular CLAT. The essential eligibility criteria for these examinations are mentioned below.
- Only those aspirants who have passed the class 12th examination with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) will be considered eligible for CLAT.
- The required minimum percentage for the SC/ST candidates is 40% aggregate marks in class 12th.
- Candidates applying for LLM, LLB (Hons) must secure a minimum of 55% in their undergraduate law program.
- Eligible candidates can apply for the CLAT examination for postgraduate admission after completing graduation in law.
- No age limit has been imposed or any restrictions on the number of attempts for candidates appearing in these law exams.
