The All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology  was founded 31 years ago with the aim of promoting computer literacy and technology training in rural India, delivered in local languages. Today, AISECT is a leading national network of ICT enabled services,with over 20,000 centers across 28 states and 3 union territories. Initially focused on vocational training and computer literacy, AISECT has expanded its scope to include skill development, financial inclusion, e learning, e governance, higher education, and placement activities.

AISECT has established several universities, including Dr. C.V. Raman University in Bilaspur, AISECT University in Patna, Jharkhand, and Hazaribag, with plans for another in Khandwa.
