Not many are familiar with the Allahabad State University or Prof. Rajendra Singh University, as it is known today. Situated in the town of Prayagraj, students hold mixed feelings about the university. This is not surprising, though, as PRSU has started functioning from 2016. 

One aspect that the students unanimously agree upon is its infrastructure. The college has a well-rounded infrastructure. Although the university has a long road ahead to improve its placement scenario. Students have been greatly dissatisfied with the placement rate. The core reason one chooses PRSU is because of its quality faculties and nominal program fees.

Array of Affordable Courses to Choose

Allahabad State University (PRSU) offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in a wide range of fields. These courses are offered in the fields of science, commerce, management, and arts. The LLB is the best-known course at the university.

As per some reviews of the students, admission to the college can also be made directly without any entrance exams. When it comes to research facilities, not much funding is available for the students. They mostly have to rely on the college authorities for the same.

Even though the course structure is not the best in the state, it is designed with ample industry-relevant topics that help for a better understanding for the students. The best part about studying at the college is its affordable course fees. This makes it possible for students coming from various backgrounds to study at the college. 

Expert Faculties

The faculties at Prof. Rajendra Singh University is the key feature. The professors are highly qualified and are experts in their respective fields. One of the main criteria for the students to join the university is the professors. 

The students have commented that the faculties are reliable, approachable and eager to help them resolve their queries. They inculcate practical examples in their teaching method for more effective learning for the students. The college has also ensured to provide at least two faculties for each subject so that there is no pressure either on students or the faculties themselves. 

Reliable Infrastructure

Among various parameters, the infrastructure of the college is the best. Since the university is fairly new, the infrastructure has all the amenities required for smooth functioning. The equipment in the college for various departments is thoroughly cared for and well maintained. 

One of the striking aspects of PRSU is its library. The library is well stocked with lakhs of books and e-books. The library also has an app and an e-catalogue that can be accessed anytime remotely. The campus is maintained and well-lit at night. Students' insights reveal that the campus environment is friendly. They also feel safe and secure inside the university premises.

The classrooms are spacious and very accommodating of the present student crowd. The classrooms are also air-conditioned to make the students comfortable. The students are also encouraged to make the best use of the campus facilities. The college also has transport facilities for the students. 

Allahabad State University (PRSU) comprises fair sports facilities that the students can make use of. Students are regularly encouraged to participate in various sports events that are held. 

Comfortable Hostel Facilities

Allahabad State University (PRSU) provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. It has built an enormous student accommodation to fill all. It includes all the daily necessities like a bed, almirah, study table, chair, and more. The facilities and amenities are looked after thoroughly by the hostel staff. 

Any complaints by the students are immediately looked into and tended. These student accommodations are available at a very low price, making it very convenient to avail. The only drawback in the hostel is the unavailability of a mess facility or canteen. However, students can opt for tiffin services.

Unimpressive Placement

Even after seven years of its existence, Prof. Rajendra Singh University has yet to set its placement record straight. Though for a few courses, top recruiters are invited, in many branches, no placement is conducted. Although, students are given soft skill development and resume-building classes before the placement.

Such soft skills trainings aid in the overall personality development of the students. There is a mandatory internship period for most of the departments. As per the students’ insights, last year, the highest package offered was INR 3 LPA. A few of the top recruiters include Aditya Birla Group, TCS, Infosys, and more.

Charming Campus Life

Allahabad State University (PRSU) campus life is jovial. Present and past students have said that they have or are enjoying their campus life and making memories for a lifetime. Student-led clubs are responsible for organizing various activities to keep the students engaged. Various cultural and sports events are also organized to make the campus life engaging.

When it comes to diversity, since the students mainly from the state of Uttar Pradesh are admitted, hence not much diversity is seen among the students. However, students from various backgrounds are likely to be admitted to various branches.

There are no strict dress codes or uniforms imposed on the students. The college also does not have stringent rules and regulations. However, basic rules and regulations do apply on the campus to maintain a healthy environment and functioning. 

Is PRSU Worth it?

Suppose placement is not the top priority for any student. In that case, Allahabad State University (PRSU) is a good choice to make. It also ranks among the top universities in the state. It provides good infrastructure and an enjoyable environment to spend the best days of one's academic life.

However, if getting placed is on top of the list for any student, then Prof. Rajendra Singh University will not be the best option to choose. Without further ado, here's a look into the pros and cons of Allahabad State University (PRSU):
